£28 could be quite cheap if your car was full of passengers. How much would it have cost you all to go by bus, train, tube. The car is a door to door service when you want, public transport is not.....0

Especially with their foresight, they would almost certainly be paying the cash price for fares on London transport0 -

What wonderful advice you give!!
Whatever way you look at it £28 for parking is extortion, pre booking is £17.50 plus £3.50 service charge. It must be very satisfying for you to hand down such advice and to judge us mear mortals.
Why thankyou. Although I wasn't aware I'd given advice, more an analysis of the situation.
It's not extortion, it's the free market in a capitalist society. You chose to park there; you could have chosen to park elsewhere or take public transport. They offered a service for a price, you decided to pay for that service rather than take the alternatives.0 -
Where abouts in Central London is £4 an hour on a meter?
I guess the O2 car park only really gets used when there are events on so it's a combination of high charges to cover when it's not being used and a captive audience.
All around Oxford St and Regents Street for west end shopping?
Also i noticed when I was at the O2 at the weekend that a lot of people park in the Sainsburys car park just down from the O2 and also that others park up in the waiting and dropping off points at the venue ...I am not sure if they "police" these areas though?0 -
That's about right, 24 hr parking at a hotel would cost around £25, 24 hrs at earls court is £35....
But then if you really were MSE you would of researched car parks and most probably booked at ParkAtMyHouse, £12 for 24 hrs.£20k in 2023 = £2718 £2023 in 2023 = £196.41 Grocery challenge £250= £195.80 **MONEY MAKES ME HAPPY**0 -
For the UK & Europes most magnificent and impressive concert venue you should expect to pay a high price for parking.
Not to mention it is an excellent car park.
If we want to have such a world renowed venue in our country then it has to be paid for by some means.
Not many people will complain about the parking cost after having what was probably an amazing event at London O2 Arena.0 -

I seem to remember contributing towards it's £1b cost through my tax prior to the millenium0 -

Have to disagree, rip off from concert/event price to overpriced drinks, food and merchandise but they have you over a barrel because where else can your children see their favourite bands? All be it way up in the high seats where a pair if binoculars much like they have in the west end theatres would be useful!0 -

PMSL! I think you'll find we (taxpayers) already paid nearly a billion pounds to have it built in the first place!!!!!!!

To other posters:
Sitting up high with binoculors! lol you are obviously buying the cheaps seats, so you should expect the least best view.
If you dont want to pay for drinks parking or a better seat, dont complain, just dont go, no one is forcing you to do anything.
O2 is a brilliant venue, which makes every other arena in the UK look terrible.
I wouldn't say it makes all arena's terrible the LG in Birmingham when I went to Rock With Laughter a couple of December's ago was really good value for money food & drink wise also the car park was only £8.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
