Have been having really dry hands currently due to the weather myself and between soap and glory hand cream, lush helping hands and then a little while after applying the hand cream been putting a barrier on top of lush ultrabalm (bit like vaseline but not quite as greasy)
If you want to try the lush things first as not quite sure on buying them go instore and talk to one of the advisors they will probably give you a little sample to try out for a few days.
They Lush stuff has been working wonders after 2 days my hands are feeling loads better and a lot less red raw looking!!
Lets hope the weather starts to improve soon :-)Engaged 25/12/2013 :T

I have really dry hands at the moment and Lush's Dream Cream is a God send. It's the same price as the Body Shop hemp one but it lasts for ages (plus it's from a cruelty free company and you get more
).
Dry January: 31/31 days. :T0 -
Another vote for Body Shop Hemp!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0

I have been using an Elemis body oil on a night before bed & wearing a pair of cotton gloves, but it's not helping.
If anyone could recommend a cream or lotion it would be much appreciated.
Had the same thing for weeks all my fingers/nails splitting, cracking etc., tried it all - you name it, emollient, e45, dermovate, none steroidal cream, Neutrogena etc.
I have loads of tubs of Body Shop butters and had a Chocolate one sat by the bed so I fetch it downstairs (more likely to use it there) put loads on (it goes quite oily) and then when it would no longer absorb in to the skin I wiped the remainder off with kitchen roll.
Only did this two or three times and my hands/fingers are already looking healthy and just the odd dry/small crack slowly healing left.
Now I know what to do with the other 8 million (slight exaggeration) large pots of Body Shop Body Butters I have :TEverything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Funnily enough I have been dieting & exercising since August. My skin may have started playing up since then.
I have had to use a lot more body cream than usual too, but my hands have certainly taken the brunt of it. The skin on my face turned very dry too, however, that seems to have gone. Although I now have a few spots on my cheek and chin to contend with lol.
Might buy a few of the creams mentioned here & see which one is beneficial. I don't like E45 cream at all, it tends to irritate my skin more than anything else.
Will also have a look at new hand washes too. I generally have an anti bacterial one in the kitchen & a regular type in the bathroom.
As for LUSH stuff: I used to be able to use all of their products. However, got a range of stuff for xmas & birthday & it's looking like I've become allergic to the bubble bars (which I love). Seem fine with the shower gels & foot creams. It's my eyes that don't seem to like the bubble bars anymore. I also don't live near a LUSH shop or a body shop even lol.0 -
I use Flexitol Heel Balm on my hands overnight when I need a hardcore treatment. It works wonders and don't need a lot. Helps ease and heal the cracks really well. Don't forget to gently exfoliate dry hands too before treating with cream.0

Similar to this, I have been using Eucerin Intensive Foot Cream 10% Urea on my hands occasionaly and it really makes a difference. I think its the urea content that helps. It is light and is absorbed fast. Its surprisingly effective for such a lightweight cream and I find it much pleasanter to use and more effective than Neutrogena.0 -
