Nicki - I went to the Butchers yesterday and bought 3 racks of bacon ribs for only £1.44 and a HUGE ham hock for £2.60. The ribs I'll boil up with cabbage and leeks and the ham hock I'll boil up and get at least a cooked meal for 3 on the day it's boiled, plus leftovers for DD's packed lunch and maybe enough for a carbonara another time. Not to mention the lush stock it'll make for about 3 pans of soup. Definitely the way to go.
Paperwork and phone calls dealt with. Dejunked 4 pages of old emails too so quite happy with that. Now I'll crack on with the house if I can sneak past OH who is lamenting about the lovely weather and wants to go out with the pooch. Wish me luck.
Hope you're all getting on well

Thats the sort of prices I'd like to seeBut one butcher is in the "posh" area, and another right in the middle of students-ville. We also have a lot of 'foreign' (not just Asian) supermarkets round here as well as the usual bigger names so there is a lot of competition and I fear it may prove to be cheaper to go to the supermarket instead! I do miss the local one, he had fantastic tomato sausages
I'm also going past a green grocers so will check out their prices too
Phone charged, lists written, time to get my self out to the bank in this glorious sunshine:wave:

Just popping in to say Hi, I can't wait for this week to be over
DD2's dad came round yesterday to drop off my early CSA money so I can call the washing machine man and I get a call from DD2's school. I was informed that DD2 was with a group of girls who shoplifted from Asda BEFORE half term!! :mad::mad:
She wasn't a taker but she was still there though denies knowing said girls had taken stuff. I obviously had a go at her and instantly grounded her. This is the second time in so many months that her name has been involved with the police:o (accidental 999 call made from phone in pocket)
Her father then let rip into me saying I was out of order, that I shouldn't ground her, she'd done nothing wrong!! It ended up with us having a massive row, him walking out telling me I need to sort my life out and me saying he's never around for any of his children.
I was in such a state, shaking and crying, I had to walk DD2 to my parents, there was no way I could of driven. I explained to them what had happened, this upset my dad, since his brain injury he doesn't cope very well with thingsMy mum was very good, calmer than me but did have a go at DD2, she agreed with me that she should be grounded etc. DD2's dad had said he was going to call DD2 at my parents (I've taken her phone) to see if I'd had another go at her after he'd left. My mum said he better not or she'd be having words with him!
I then went home and apologised to DD1's boyfriend who was staying. DD1 cooked dinner as I was still upset, I didn't eat myself though.
I honestly don't think I can cope with any more:( So as you can imagine flying is the last thing on my mind.
I have phoned and left a message for the WM repairman. Had a call from some medical company connected to the solicitors for the crash, they want to give DD1 a once over to help with a claim for her and had a text chat with my best friend. I've also had to suffer two lectures, one from an ex telling me my life would be better if I moved house  as my house is jinxed and the other from my new boyfriendish bloke about making a plan of what I want from life and how to get it  All I want to do is get to the end of the month without having a complete break down!!

Oh dear, got myself all confuddled again today, in fact the confuddling hasn't stopped since yesterday.
Rang funeral director yesterday and got price to get Mum's funeral pre-paid so in the throws of grief we don't have to borrow money AND we don't have to talk money until we are ready to do probate.
I have dealt with this lady a lot, as in the fullness of time 6 of us are being buried there, so ringing her is more like speaking to a family friend.
I thought BINGO, draft the email I was going to do to my froggy sister (and fire off in the middle of the night so she couldn't argue over it;)), and do one about funeral costs, got as far as loading my account to find her nit-picking over an email that I sent best part of a year ago, that has already been superceded, agreed by us jointly and reported to HMRC and now she wants to review email again :mad::mad:
Scanner then refused to scan anything and the day went downhill from there :eek::eek:
I have now got a patch online, but instead of pressing the scan button on the printer I have to click on the icon in the program to force it to scan
So today, I thought yes I will get Steam Mop parcel returned, pay cheque into the bank, and scan off the documents and get that froggy email done while I am waiting for the HV to come at 11.30
Completely tangled up, "missed you" card waiting from HV as she came at 10 - (this vaguely rings a bell now - AFTER the event, but I had written 11.30 on my white board)
Now I am having to pull out all my papers for all the appointments for me and the kids to make sure they are correctly remembered on the white board (some of which I have to travel some distance) including the dreaded ESA appointment.....in fact the arrival of that letter I think was the start of this confuddling spiral before this current spate of nit-picking from my sister.
I have managed to draft the emails but I am planning to fire them off at night so she can't ring me.
LR and hallway have been hoovered. landing, DD3 room and my room have been cleared of gibble ready to hoover later, and stairs are definitely in need of a wipe as very dusty (no chance of getting carpet on the staircase this year)
Also to do - complete bulk cooking I started yesterday veggies all done in massive pan, to divide and season into Veggie Cannelloni, Veggie Lasagne, Veggie Chilli and Veggie Curry
I also did a massive pan of boiled rice yesterday and I have made Kedgeree for me for Brunch, but will portion rest of rice to go with chilli and curry so they become "stab and nuke" - as I have no idea how long this froggy part of the estate is going to keep me down.:(:(:(
Right, time to get DS, go to the Beach and lob some stones in the seaThe cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Breathe, Skinty. It all sounds like a veritable nightmare. Posi-vibes coming your way, hopefully this will help a little.:o
Hossy yesterday was absolutely awful - how I managed not to go into a full-on panic attack, I shall never know.:( Just got to put the horrid experience firmly behind me, now.
Wednesday = bathroom day here, so highlight of the day is loo-scrubbing.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

heres another bit of paperwork for anyone who works in a school, soon (if you havent already) you will be asked to prove you are eligible to work in the uk ofsted will be checking. so have your passport or driving licence ready to take in to be checked. apartently CRBs and national insurance numbers are not enough.
i think its a government job creation scheme to give someone else a pile of papers to shuffleSPC~12 ot 124

Well I DID do my paperwork but I DIDN'T get past OH. Dog now walked, library books ordered, Voucher from Christmas spent, bought a new pair of boots (in the sale), recycling taken, Charity shop visited and a bag of hangers deposited there. Trip to Wilko's for hairdye, so I will now dye said hair and run hoover around everywhere whilst it's "taking", put away washed clothes and bedding, have a pamper whilst I rinse it off and then scrub the bathroom. Sounds like a plan to me.
Wendywitch - I do believe things happen for a reason so please, without this causing offence to you, if there is some possibility about moving away from where you live now and having a fresh start, perhaps there is some solution within the comment made? I don't know, I'm just trying to find some light in what is a horrid time for you. I do not wish to cause you any upset, please believe me.
Skint - pants about the mix-up - hope your day gets better.
LW - BLAH to the hospital!!!!!!
Wm x 2 so far and all out on the line. Must. Move. !!!!!. Now.
