    No matter what any of us think the issue need to be resolved between the OP and their partner. If not you've got a ticking time bomb in the relationship to start with.

    I'm old school in the couples money is the couples money, not mine and yours, but that is irrelevant in this discussion. The OP need to find a financial plan going forward that they and their partner are happy with. If they can't agree on that you are opening the door to a world of never ending arguments. They need to think long term too, in terms of what would happen if they have children or one has a long term illness.
