The big difference with the Dre headphones is when your phone detects them they enable a specific EQ setting in software that some people like the sound of.
If you're using them with an Android phone then there are hacks around to enable the BeatsEQ stuff on any device and with any headphones.
Any idea how that works? I wouldn't have thought such a thing were possible...0 -

The Dre headphones are literally just normal headphones with a chip in them that tells the software on compatible devices to do some audio processing stuff.
I run a custom ROM with the Beats stuff pre-installed. I've successfully used it with the audio line-in on my Ford Mondeo which is most definitely not approved by Dr. Dre0 -

Could be that he or she means, crap is crap, no matter how much you polish it or tweak it, it's still crap.
Any £40 set of headphones will be just as good as the dr dreMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
I never claimed that the Dre headphones were anything other than crap. I just described how the system works. Personally I think it's a con since the entire thing is done in software.
You could probably achieve the exact same effect using a standard EQ app and a bit of fiddling with the sliders.0 -
IF it is such a con, then why do you own someMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

I do not own, and have never owned, any Dre branded headphones. I think you have me confused with the OP
For the record I own a set of Sennheiser HD500s and a bunch of cheap in-ear things that came free with my various phones over the years, the best of which were the ones that came with the Nokia N900.0 -
Now see why the HA HA HA HA was posted. say no moreMansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

Still not seeing it here. Posting how they work and how you can replicate the experience for free with any old headphones is somehow mock worthy?0
