I just called them and my transfer in from a previous provider is there but waiting to be cleared which is fine.

Then on Saturday I will do an internal transfer £5760 to top it up with this years allowance.

By the time the bonus ends in October, the majority of it will be 'invested' in my house so am less concerned about what the rate will be after that at the moment.
My transfer from Virgin Money (nee Northern Rock) has now landed in my account.

Next years is sitting in my flexaccount ready to do an internal transfer tomorrow.

I imagine some substantial amounts will end up in this account if people use it to roll up previous years ISAs.

Does anyone know what rate the isa drops too after October?
2%, which, the way things are going, might be the best rate by then anyway. :(
  • I emailed Nationwide, using the category of 'complaint', and asked for interest to be backdated to when I opened the Flexclusive ISA (April 2012). At that time, all of my previous years ISA subs were sat in another of their ISAs (Champion ISA). In early March 2013 I consolidated all the Champion ISA into the Flexclusive ISA. They have admitted, in response to my complaint, that I was misadvised when I opened the Flexclusive i.e told I cannot transfer in previous years subs, but they are refusing to backdate interest saying they are allowed to revise terms & conditions at any time. When I complained I told them that I was aware other savers had been told they would receive backdated interest.
Torchie: have you actually received the backdated interest yet?

Hardly, Gillyboy. I only sent off the SF216s on Tuesday which they hopefully received Wednesday. They then have to process them and contact the current provider to request transfer of the funds. That will all take some time although of course there are strict guidelines on the maximum time allowed. I therefore wouldn't expect to see any "special credit" for at least a fortnight but that will still only take me to 19th April so I still have quite a few days to sort it out if it seems to be taking too long.

They are indeed allowed to change the Ts & Cs but I believe have to give existing customers of the particular product in question, 30 days notice.

Yes you can but ask Nationwide to do it for you.

I have just telephoned Nationwide Customer Services and been told that I can transfer old ISA money from online issue 6 ISA into my Flexclusive ISA via online banking, I asked if he was sure and told yes but you need to do this before end of this month as after that you won't be able to.

I asked if he would do this for me and told no.

I want to do this via online banking but am nervous in case he is wrong? Certainly seems to be against the advice on this thread?

You can do this transfer online. Just make sure you transfer directly between the Online ISA and the Flexclusive ISA. (don't go through your flex account).

In my experience, if the system lets you do it its allowed. If when you come to do it the Flexclusive ISA isn't in the list of accounts to transfer, you can't do it.

Don't worry. Its easy to do.

    He is correct.

The reason why he cannot do it is because you are transferring out of an online-only ISA.
