Just a quickie tonight as off out to work meeting.

Today didn't start well with son's ipod issue, and got worse. Following stern words with him along lines of "you really should take better care of your possessions" and "you really can't go leaving things lying around, you might lose something valuable" I then got back from the trip to collect the ipod from the village hall to discover.... I had left my handbag at the village hall whilst searching for the iod! Doh!
Lovely hubby went and retrieved it and contents, (purse, credit cards, driving license and other valuables) for me. I have since consumed a large slice of humble pie, son found it highly amusing and took full advantage of the opportunity to repeat back to me word for word the lecture I gave him this morning. :o:o:o

    MSE-wise, also a bit of a failure.
Boiler-repair chap here, very very necessary as having to boil kettle to top up bath water not very mse, but bill will be a bit ouchy I suspect. Lunch out today, only Wetherspoons and not going to get chance for dinner tonight so main meal and drink for us both was £12.98, not too bad.

Walker aruond local market but too chillyto linger so that was a result.

Roll on tomorrow morning and payday. Have updated signature with more info, quite eartened to see how much has already paid off of various mortageg related bits, and hoping to improve it more soon.

Anyway now to make like a dwarf, hi ho, hi ho, its off to work I go......

We could be a new antiflylady group. Think of what we would save in white vinegar and star drops!

Anti-fly lady? I like the idea of that!

Well been a busy few days, bank manager has come to stay (aka little sister) so have been catching up with her, family meals, (window) shopping trips, lunch out and other general niceness.
Not too much therefore to report MFW-wise.
Did have a big chat with hubby and showed him the difference that snowballing repayments makes to end date. Spoke to sister too and therefore from today am throwing much bigger percentage of repayment pot at mortgage reserve and less at the other loans. I think hubby quite excited and on board with the challenge.

Mortgage reserve now under £14k :T:T:T (but only by a penny)
Hubby did grocery shopping, and did a far better job of sticking to the list than I would have.

Son just back from panto perfromance number 2, 2 down 2 to go.

Tomorrows dinner lamb shanks, de-frosting overnight.
Boiler now producing lots of lovely hot water, but oil leak still present, stinking downstairs loo at the moment. Yuck!

Bank manager and I drank too much wine last night, so off to bed now, hoping to feel much less fuzzy-headed tomorrow, _pale_

Hi Vickyt, i am loving the diary, it must be such a challege with a big family to save money. also liked tip about not hoovering saving electric. I had major surgery and was told no ironing or hoovering. No one said when it would be safe to start so i haven't risked it since. The family do occasionally point out it was 5 years ago :rotfl: now I have a new excuse. Thanks
    mortgage 1 33,000. paid nov 2012 :D. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

Thanks Kirsty & Catshark for dropping by.

Had £5 reward payment from Halifax current account so quickly paid that across to mortgage reserve.

Went shopping this morning but very restrained sticking to fruit, veg and fresh bits and necessary p.e. shoes for DD1.

Blissfully quiet afternoon with just youngest daughter and sister here. All rest at the panto.

Had to waste some money by [STRIKE]hoovering[/STRIKE] getting hubby to hoover. ;)

Oil boiler needed new pump, wonderful boiler man came out and fixed it, will bury head in sand about need to pay for that until he's back from his hols.

Off to drink coffee and catch up on everyone else's diaries.
    Happy Saturday one and all!

That is very kind of you to say, however as I've said (often!), my diary is full of drivel - all my own entries that is:o I'm just fortunate that other people post on it;)

    You're doing brilliantly though:)

OK, evening all, where the heck did that weekend go???

Have had a lovely few days with the bank manager aka sister staying. Lots of nice stuff done, eaten and seen. Now however, she has gone home, takeaway food all eaten up and it's time to return to some fiscal and food austerity.

So as of tomorrow morning the plan is thus:

Back on scales and back on slimming world
Pay mortgage 1 payment for March and update signature
Do lots of work things have avoided doing all weekend
Menu plan from freezer & larder for the next week
Do shopping list of necessities for the next week

All sound jolly dull and worthy but am sure will find it much more satisfying than lots of spending and choccy (trying to convince myself here, can you tell?)

Off to eek out last few hours of weekend left, now where did I hide that last Freddo Frog from myself???

    Morning all,

Well its monday again, grey and gloomy here. Would really like some sunshine a) because its cheerful and makes everyone feel better and b) because then my solar panels are more than just a cosy blanket for my roof.

Ok onwards with the new week.

Do shopping list of necessities for the next week - 2nd next job on list

Have done my first ever TillyTidy, £2.19 in old redundant ISA. Paid it to mortagasge overdraft.

Ok enough faffing, freezer spreadsheet and work backlog here I come.
    Have a good Monday.
