Mortgage Free Wannabe - My Diary

Perhaps we should start a World record attempt, Most Under 16's in a bathtub?
Not much to report here today, but going to check in anyway to keep focussed. First day back after school holidays.
DH got paid today, £12.52 more than expected according to my spreasheet of his hours done, not complaining and paid it straight off of mortgage overdraft. Spent sometime looking at snowball calculators and was surprised by just how much time (and ultimately money) I can shave off the end date by re-jigging what amounts I pay to which balances in which order IYSWIM? So thanks to those (Lois & GG I think) who pointed this out to me for making me think about it a bit more closely. I will be looking into exactly how much I can afford to through at mortgage overdraft and how little I can get away with throwing at the rest.
MSE
DH only bought necessary bits (veg & milk)
Stretched sausage casserole to feed 9 including 1 unexpected guest and no-one went home still famished (thank goodness for bread rolls from breadmaker to fill everyone up)
HM soup with leftover xmas stock and turkey on now for lunches for the week
£12.52 OP to mortgage OD made :T
NSD for me
Not so MSE
Call from school saying a place is availab for DD to re-join gym club, good for her, bad for bank balance, but overall a good thing
Water rates bill came £30+ increase in last year's bill
Off to light fire and snuggle with DH to keep warm, cheaper than putting the heating on.

Well that was a productive day, worked from home and house was epmty so got looooooaaaaaddds done and then went to clients this afternoon for more productivity.
No money shuffles done, did pay this month's credit card bill off though:eek: (focus on the clubcard points, focus on the points)
Hubby went shopping and managed to get all we needed and nothing more, apart from 2 versions of toilet cistern valves as not sure which we need and the wrong one will go back , gosh we're so rock'n roll
All was going well on the planned/limited spending until I went into w*itrose at 6.30pm, whoopsie time, still freezer was looking a bit less than choc-a-bloc full. :rotfl:And don't they say its best to keep your freezer full? Something about economical use of space and reducing the need to keep re-chilling the air.
Nasty email from npower to say my fixed tariff is about to end, will see what Martin's energy club reckons I should do about that. :money:
Son at last panto rehersal tonight, opening night is Thursday. Have got to stay awake until he comes in at 10.30pm, this is a preview of times to come, when he's a teenager rolling in at all hours.
3 lots of work lined up for tomorrow, including pay for 1 job, hooray!

Crumbs! If you read the whole thing from beginning to end, you'll have to wade through a lot of wittering about nothing. Hope there's something useful in there somewhere.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Morning all, its too early to be functioning properly but had text to say son left ipod in village hall last night so off to rescue that before it ends up in a bag of jumble, pain really as kids usually get school bus to school so will have to waste some precious fuel driving them but cheaper than replacing ipod I suppose.
Back later after more caffeine.,..1 -
ooohh and mini target for the month/week/tomorrow is to get the mortgaeg overdraft down to under £14k with OP's, should be possible as long as 1 of my employers have made correct alterations to contract and pay. Then again know our HR dept maybe it isn't likely at all. will see tomorrow when open bank accounts.1
