Daughter parked on asda, had no money only card, went inside, hoping and didn't get a parking ticket.
And yes when she came out she'd got a ticket, she went inside to asda and showed them that she had just spent £72 instore using her card.
Customer services said to write to the company and send a photo copy of her receipt and they may or may not wavier the fee.
I have told her not to pay it, as i've read on this board not to, she doesn't believe me, i told her i would ask on here, and she could see the posts, for herself.
So is it pay or don't pay
parking tickets is from smart parking.
thanks

Ignore them, this company has been suspended from dvla access for their signs not complying in the past. These lot will only write threatening letters sort of like Nigerian scammers then they crawl back under the stone they crawled out of after a few letters from them and their powerless agents.
IGNORE!!When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Dont pay
Also dont bother sending a letter
Its not a fine, its an invoice which can be ignored
just expect a few not so scary lettersFor everthing else there's mastercard.

By the way complain to asda's head office, scan your receipt in and demand they cancel this as you are a paying customer. Don't take no for answer they are responsible for the actions of their agents. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. Was it a free car park? If so what did the landowner lose? Zero. In fact you were a customer of Asda and shopped there. Smart is only a private parking company and their tickets can be and should be ignored. However, go into Asda and ask for the manager of that store and demand that he/she ring Smart Parking up to cancel ticket there and then. Don't go until they do it. That will get Smart off your back altogether. Do NOT contact Smart in any circumstances.
If you do hear from them you simply ignore any and all things/threats they send you. They can not enforce what is a fake ticket. Its only an invoice. Its not a "fee" as its a free car park for Asda customers. (Even if you were not they could still not enforce their fake ticket.)
Others will come soon to tell you the same. ...oh, they have already!
Don't take their tickets seriously at allGot a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
Thanks for those replies,
it used to be a pay car park, and you used to pay for a ticket, take it in the shop with you, and if you had spent over £5 you got your money back, either by the cashier or by customer services, if you had used self scan.
I'm not sure now if you get the money back but the old machines were removed from around the car park, and 4 were placed either side of the entrance to the shop.
She knew she should have bought a ticket, but she didn't have cash only her card, which she used to pay for her shopping.
I am going to go into the shop, and ask the manager to contact them, to cancel the ticket. .
As for a parking ticket, it's more like a till receipt.0 -
Saint chris, again i wouldnt bother, i find parking invoice and debt collector letters so useful for clearing up chicken poo for when they wonder in to the kitchen! For everthing else there's mastercard.

Two reasons why St Chris might be advised to go into ASDA re her ticket.
The first is that if she sees the manager, and they cancel the ticket, her mind will be at rest. Not everyone relishes the fight, if you see what I mean
The second is that if she can get a ticket from Sainsbury, Tesco or Morrison that is for their free car park free, she can ask for ASDA "Refund the difference plus 10%" and make some money !!!! :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Agh guys dad i see where you are coming from
ASDA will most likely turn round and say "we dont have anything to do with the car park, dont own it etc etc, they will just wash their handsFor everthing else there's mastercard.

Indeed they might, but it does no harm to get in their face and let them know that there are other supermarkets around who do take responsibility.
Someone, somewhere at ASDA made a decision to bring these guys in, I am assuming, maybe incorrectly. They need to have it rammed home what damage it could be doing to their turnover.0 -
I advocate complaining every time to the retailer/hotel/restaurant/landowner/hospital whoever has these vermin on site. The reason is that without complaints the status quo will continue. That can't be rightWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
