Welcome to this week's new people. Do what you can and don't beat yourself up!

Two washloads on the line, one in the WM. It's looking like rain here too.
Kitchen done to level 3 but only a superficial do of the cooker, it can have it's bath next week. I left the floor 'til last as I was traipsing in and out and the garden is covered in fallen blossom.
BM on. Both pantries tidied. A bit. I also washed the back door down as it was covered in fly poo. Nice.

Jet77 I can't remember where I read about the 27 items thing - somewhere on this site no doubt - but it's a bit of a magic number Feng shui-wise I think. 3 x 9. Somebody later may expand on this and I'll stand corrected but hey, if it brings me peace and harmony in the home I'm up for it.

Here's the rain, I'm off to fetch a full line back in. Curses.

The oven is soaking in stardrops but otherwise the kitchen has had a quick S&S, lil_me will take your suggestion of swapping the rooms around - there is just too much to do in the living room to try and clean the kitchen as well, so living room it is for me with the added of bonus of not hoovering no point with the carpet being replaced tomorrow :j

So today I have to -
[STRIKE]move two bookcases into new rooms [/STRIKE]- they are both needing a declutter before they can be done so this is my 27 fling.
[STRIKE]move all the little bits of furniture into other rooms[/STRIKE] - aiming to give them a good polish as they are moved.
[STRIKE]paint one wall which is covered in hand prints from my lovely kids[/STRIKE].
[STRIKE]lift carpet and carry it out into the garage[/STRIKE].

Thats me for now I will report back later to tell you how things are going.

OK, fess up time here. I left home at 20, am now *cough* no longer in my twenties :D, and I have just realised I have no idea how you clean an oven.

In rented places in the past, I have to admit that on leaving I hoovered the crumbs out and squirted Mr. Muscle everywhere :embarasse Gosh, I have just admitted that on an open forum :shhh:

I haven't done the 'clean oven' on the list for the past couple of weeks I've been Flying, and I have realised why now. I opened the oven to clean it and stopped as I had no idea what on earth to do. I don't want to use any awful Mr. Muscle type stuff, there are crumbs everywhere.....and what on earth does it mean to soak an oven, as some previous posters are doing?

    Help!!

The soaking thing is taking the oven racks putting them in the bath with biological washing powder/liquid and hot water. Leave to soak and then all the gunk should just wipe off, no scrubbing.

The bottom of mine I attack with a paint scraper and stardrops or vinegar. This gets rid of the carbon build up. Michelle posted a really useful tip of wiping the oven out with a cloth soaked in white vinegar whilst its still warm (but I keep forgetting to do this)

Okay, I'm on a roll :rotfl:

While I was getting on with one job, I was adding some more music to my MP3 - donned miracle equipment and I'm away with the faeries :D

I've taken up and decided to get rid of the rug in the dining room ... keeps getting rumpled and bumpled and it's simply not working for me; bye bye stress rug, hello speedier cleaning of the dining room floor. You've no idea how much it hurts me to get rid of something :o This is a biggy!!

Just having a cuppa soup before I carry on with my next mission ... the 27 fling boogie (already started but need to carry on).

    Afternoon everyone
I hope you're all enjoying your day off ( if you're having one!)

I've not managed much apart from my dailies so far today.

Is it raining where you are? It is here but I think that may be our fault - a friend said he was bbq-ing this evening and asked us and several other friends along. So it's never too much for one person and to save the stress when we get together we always bring a plate or two each. I'm just making a rice salad and starting to do the strawberry tart. I'm sitting here because I'm putting off making the pastry  my pastry isn't the best but the tart is sublime if I can pull it off!:D So, I'm just working myself up to doing it:o

Here's how lil_me's list looks up to now:

Manic Monday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
    Clean floors
    Level Two
[STRIKE]Wash the washer drawer out if it's gunky[/STRIKE]
Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces will do when I finished cooking
[STRIKE]Dust any extra furniture in dining room, checking for cobwebs on way round[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wipe dining table (clean table cloth if necessary)[/STRIKE]
Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front it's a bit difficult atm as I'm trying to stuff bbq food in there......
    Level Three
Wipe window sill, clean any marks off window if required
Clean cupboard door fronts and the front of appliances
    Clean microwave
Clean oven if you didn’t do it last week
    Declutter mission task
27 fling boogie, start as we mean to go on by grabbing a bag and clear that clutter. If you can't find 27 it means you are doing well

Um, the list looks a bit sickly atm but I'm sure I'll manage a little more before I trip off out at 6pm.
    See you later..........

Do it when the oven is warm.

If you have a greasy mucky bottom, sprinkle on some bicarb of soda, damp with a water mist thingy; now leave it to soak for a minute or two. Scrap up the powder/gunge (I use my fish slice  ) then rinse off the rest.

    Forgot to add:-

Shelves can be soaked in your bath with a solution of hot water and washing soda (soda crystals) - some people choose to use bio washing powder. Either works as a de-greaser.

My first attempt at this and its gr8!! I've crossed out the ones below so I can see what I've got left to do.

Wow - this is gr8 - I'm doing all 3 levels 2day:j and I feel like I've still got loads to do, but my friend just walked in and said 'Wow you've been busy!'. However, I might only do level 1 2moro as I'm back to work - but level 1 is better than no level at all :T
