My lo didn't grab at the dangly things ever, we bought him soft blocks and he held them in-between his legs and bashed. He looked everywhere else but at the dangly things on his playmat.Newly Married, not a 2b anymore!! Mum to two wonderful boys!0

Thanks for the replies re my post from yesterday. I know I'm not the only one who has days when they don't get dressed etc, but it does make a difference when you hear others say the same thing.
Made me not feel as guilty, even more so cos today has been a day when I didn't get dressed.
I was mighty peeved at hubby last night who got in from work at 5pm and was more preoccupied with checking his messages than anything else. Can't remember what I was doing, but wasn't in the lounge where baby and he was, eventually I had enough of hearing her cry knowing he hadn't attempted to do anything about it.
Was then cross when I checked on her and she'd bought back some of her milk. His reply was 'I didn't know', well yes derr you wouldn't know because you didn't check on her.
He's doing that 'you do it, you do it better than me' when it comes to feeding her or getting her to sleep. I keep encouraging him because he only gets time in the evening so of course she knows me that little bit more cos I'm with her all day.
He'll have to cope Sunday as I am off out with a friend to a xmas market for a few hours. Maybe, hopefully that is what he needs.Mummy to two girls: October 2013 and February 20160 -

I'm with you on not getting dressed!!! Truth be told, I don't know how to lead my normal life around baby!! I eat very little and when I do it's mostly rubbish unless my family cook for me. My OH is still off until Monday but I am dreading him not been around as he is so much better with the baby. He seems to just get him and I really don't although I think I'm getting better.
I cry more than baby does and am still anxious about him. He has wind which I hate and when my mum visits she is always telling me to watch his head or put a cardigan on him. She has been totally amazing since I gave birth but it's got to me that she feels I can't even do simple things like watching his head or doing my best to make sure he is warm enough (we keep room around 19 degrees so I dress him in a vest, babygrow with feet, a blanket folded over (so 2 layers). Does he really need a cardigan as well??!
I'm not quite losing it today but I don't feel all that confident either yet
Sorry that's such a whine0 -
Talking of meals when you have a newborn.. best thing my dad did - cooked meals for us that I picked up and reheated. Not every night, but enough for about five meals a week. He did it for a month. What a star. Love you daddy."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

:rotfl:This made me laugh out loud on the train this afternoon! I got a strange look from the lady next to me. I could soooo imagine my LO doing the exact same thing if I bought her a potty now! :rotfl:
ETA: Just looked up the Fisher Price singing potty - I want one! Is it really, really annoying? Is it as annoying as the V Tech Walker?.....0 -

Just adding myself to the list.
Bangton, it doesn't sound like baby needs a cardigan as well indoors. Blanket, vest and sleepsuit should be fine - they say baby needs one more layer than we do. Mothers, while supportive, can also be a nightmare - I just nod and then ignore my MIL when she tells me in one breath baby is too cold and in the next baby needs to be taken outside in the fresh (cold) air.
Our baby's very windy - farts for England!
OH is back at work on Sunday, it'll be weird and I'm a bit eeek about how I'll manage on my own. Did manage a trip shopping this week on my own though so hopefully it won't be too traumatic!0 -

A colleague of mine used to bring me takeaways from my favourite Turkish restaurant - I'll love her forever for that0
