The Forum is called Money Saving Expert is it not? This is a sub forum

Now like it or not, admit to it or not, the airlines WILL be passing all the costs of this lawful compensation to the customers, just as they will pass on the costs of having standby aircraft, standby crew and possibly hiring in aircraft (from pretty non existant sources) to avoid delay!!

That will increase the costs of fares (Ryanair at least is honest to say what they have done)

Tell me, how does that save money to the majority of the passengers that do not get delayed?
I thought these threads were to give people help with their claims not to castigate them for claiming what is lawfully theirs.
Show me where it says that and that adverse comment is banned!?
If you can't take critisism of your actions, then .....

Really it's like a school playground on here at times with judges, regulators and airlines being called names if they don't agree with the complainants. For goodness sake I though folk on here were adults.

Flight Delay Compensation Board is what this forum is called and I noticed you conceded it is lawfull compensation. So what do we do just ingnore the laws that do not suit us as yourself and the other negative posters on here would have us do. I find your comments very offensive and derogatory and unhelpful. Oh its the school bell, time to go.

So show me where in the law it says you have to claim? It only says you can. The choce is yours.

I note you have failed to answer either of my quest6ions

And that makes it intrinsically bad? If so, by that logic anything that improves products or consumer rights is intrinsically bad simply by virtue of causing an increase in prices. Fine if you think so but many of us aren't focused on price over everything else.

Remember that airline-passenger obligations go both ways. I have to live up to my end of the contract by being at the airport at a certain time, keeping my luggage within certain size and weight dimension, having to stick to the itinerary I booked, etc. If I break my end of the contract there's usually a financial punishment (I'll have to buy a new ticket/excess luggage fees/change fees). I fail to see what's so terrible about asking the same from the airline.

I agree contracts work both ways. The airlines particularly the lower end of the market although making an additional charge like the Irish airline in many cases find it more economical to cancel or delay a flight on economic grounds, believing the inconvenienced passengers can't be bothered to complain and in the ultimate sue them for the compensation they are due under the law.
Many people who fly are on holiday and any delay means they have lost part of that holiday (in my case a whole day) which in many cases the airline is owned by the holiday company.
We in this country have gone far too long accepting poor quality goods and services.
The majority of posters on this and other sites are beginning to wake up, complain and if necessary take further action which in the case of this site is beginning to pay dividends.
The airlines in the future are going to have to buck up their ideas be more efficient or it will start to cost a lot of money.
