If the job spec has changed that's not the same thing. I am talking about taking the place in interview when you just want the practice. I have never done it.

Only the people that get the interview have a chance in getting the job. Say I get one of these jobs and turn it down they could have interviewed someone else in my place instead and that person has missed out.

What about jobs that don't exist though, jobs that you apply for and research and put in a good interview. Is that fair? your wasting your time there.

There are jobs advertised and you can apply and get an interview but there isn't really a job vacancy as such because the job is already taken internally. They are not going to tell you that because its equal opportunity.

so like I say its 6 and 2 3's. Its up to you if you want to apply for a job whether there is one or not or whether you want to take it or not. Life is life that's it. We life in a competitive world where no one gives you something for free.

yeah the one I went to today has already been filled so they wasted 1hr 50 mins talking to me and the others they are going to see and they took 3 weeks to go through the application forms to get to this stage. !!!! what a waste of time that is for a busy company in London.

They DO NOT have to interview anyone if they have filled the job internally at all. The one I am going to see tomorrow could cancel tonight and tell me the job is filled if they want to.

Because of the equal opportunity law a company will not tell you the job has been filled internally, they will go through the process. Ive experienced this myself some years ago, this was for a side ways move for me. Put in a great interview and didn't get the job, however because I work for the company they said the job was filled internally, I was not surprised as I have been given a job this way, so no big deal, upsetting maybe.

No thats a lie as I have an email today from a BIG London Co saying the role is no longer advertised as they filled it internally.

Can you point me to the link where it says that though what you have said here 'Because of the equal opportunity law a company will not tell you the job has been filled internally, they will go through the process.'

    Whos mentioned cancel all interviews?

What will happen is a company will advertise a post. If this post has been filled with either a temp or someone has been filling the role for a period of time and gone through the training process on a temp contract or by as and when or bank work and this person applies for the role where is it going to go.

As I have said. I applied for a post that was advertised. Some where there was a person who was filling in or doing bank work and when this role became available fulltime this person applied for the post. They have gone through the whole process of training and induction at a earlier date when they obviously applied for the role on a temp or bank work contract. A person who worked there full time obviously left and there was a vacancy. So the temp or bank worker applies but through equal opportunity there has to be interviews. Who gets the post.
