Has anyone heard of these cowboys?
I went into the Euro Car Parts store in Hayes that is on a shared industrial estate of four units.
When I returned to my car it had a "Parking Ticket" on my windscreen.......
There was a sign clearly stating that this was a private car park and that I needed to display a permit, I assumed that this was just to keep the estate clear for people using or visiting the businesses on the estate and thought that as I was a customer of one of the businesses I would be OK - WRONG!
After speaking to people in Euro Car Parts and the Parking company it appears that I should have only parked in a section dedicated to Euro Car Parts (I was only one bay away from the section and not causing any issues) - my problem is this area wasn't clearly explained in the parking notice that was up and that the bay I had parked in had no signage to say that it was for the use of another companies patrons.
The whole set up is so ambiguous that it is bordering on fraudulent - I am happy to fight this but just wondering if life is too short to save £60 and if my case is sufficient enough to go through with the whole appeal process?
Thanks in Advance!

You will know from reading various threads and stickies in this forum that you just ignore these unenforceable invoices. They are not worth the paper they are written on. File it in the bin and do the same with any other similar waste paper that arrives in the mail. It is just a scam to extract cash from the uninformed.0

The is no apoeal process
Just ignore, you dont need to do anything elseFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Ignore them if its your vehicle, they won't do court and all you'll get is junk mail through the postWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

You don't need to fight this! No need to bother with any 'appeal' if you have no time to see it through to POPLA (see the top thread on the forum if you decide you do want to find out about the appeals procedure). Your choices with these fake PCNs are simply, appeal or IGNORE.
So, just ignore the fake PCN and the letters that will follow from debt collectors. Nothing else will happen. DO NOT PAY THEM.
This bunch are ex-clampers, look at the picture of a CPM clamp (now illegal) they use to illustrate their website:
http://www.controlledparkingmanagement.co.uk/news.html
Also on their homepage they refer to 'illegal parking' with a picture of a COUNCIL Penalty Charge Notice. That's misleading and suggesting they have a level of authority they simply do not possess. The words 'illegal' and 'penalty' are completely wrong.
This is bunch of desperate, ex-clamping scumbags who have just jumped on the BPA AOS bandwagon and are issuing fake PCNs left right and centre. If their website is that bad I would LOVE to see a pic of the signage on site!
Did I say ignore them?! :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Sorry they cannot be just a bunch of thickos as they seem to be fluent in Latin at least ...

They might know Latin , but they don't know the law as they talk about "illegal parking" and "penalty charge notices". The English on that website is a bit dodgy as well. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Thank you all for your help - the sticky for the POPLA was enlightening!! Must say I saw it but thought it was a link to the "official" site.
Been trawling the net most of this evening and have to admit to a bit of information overload - part of the MSE site advises a note back to the PPC telling them that I will not be paying, wonder if I could just advise them to put a claim in at court??
If you think the website is bad, quite a few typos on the window invoice as well, and after speaking to the bloke who owns the company I'm not at all surprised
Thanks again0 -

Best not to. Best to simply ignore them as you would an email from a Nigerian scammer. What would you do if you got an email from one of them? Write back? No, you would just delete it, forget you recieved it very quickly and just get on with your normal day to day cares and worries. Delete this ppc from your life, don't take them, their tickets or their fake threats seriously. Its that easy!
Oh, and one thing you could do proactively is to spread the word about these ppc's and their unenforceable fake tickets to your family, friends, colleagues and total strangers.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -
Matthew. How did you get on. I went to Euro Car Parts Bank Hol Monday. ECP only unit open. 6 vehicles there and as you say, no defined reserved bays. Also there is no clear sign at the entrance to say it is private land and public not allowed to enter. Preordered my items so was only going to be there for a few minutes. Within 3 minutes, scooter pulls up and whacks on a Parking Charge Notice for £60. If not paid in 14 days increases to £100. This is disproportionate to the amount of time spent there. If there was a sign at the entrance, I would not have parked in there and parked on the road outside. Just want to know if you Ignored the notice and if so did they chase it up? Wife says I should just pay the £60, but think this is outrageous. Need some quick advice.0

Divorce her for being a spendthrift, I would say>
Your advice is the same as that given to the OP, why would it be different for a carbon copy situation?0
