If you have a low score then you will be refused by every bank. Thats a fact, They DO use them aswell as their own in house system. So you actually have 2 lots to pass.
1) No lender sees the number that credit reference agencies sell you. FACT.
2) My OH was just approved for a £20,000 unsecured personal loan with a sub-10% APR and a Barclaycard Platinum 25 Months 0% Card (£6,700 limit) despite a Credit Expert "Score" of 620 / Poor.
So, basically, err, no.This post is incorrect.
Credit reference agencies calculate two different scores: one that they will provide to the customer, and one that they will provide to the bank.
Unfortunately this is also wrong.
Credit reference agencies do not provide scores to lenders at all
They do however provide consultancy with lenders to help lenders devise their own score sheet. This is very different.
The only information given to a lender who performs a search on a borrower, is the raw credit file data itself, not any score - this is calculated using the lenders own score sheet by their own computerCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I said that "if you have a low score then you'll be refused by every bank"
Low score means you have problems in your credit report, the lender will see this in your credit report.0 -

What you said was:If you have a low score then you will be refused by every bank. Thats a fact, They DO use them as well as their own in house system.
If you don't want people to misinterpret your posts, use grammar correctly.
Low score means you have problems in your credit report, the lender will see this in your credit report.
No it doesn't.
It is merely the product of an opinion.
In the case of my other half's CreditExpert score, it was CreditExpert's opinion that certain aspects of his credit file - e.g. owing 83% of his credit limits and having recently opened an account with Virgin Media made him highly risky.
This opinion however was not shared by Nationwide or Barclaycard as their scoring models don't mark people down for such things in the same way that CreditExpert's scoring model does. If they did, he wouldn't have been approved.
Ergo, having a low CreditExpert score, doesn't mean that there are irrefutable problems with your credit file data, nor does it mean you will get turned down for prime credit without doubt.
I understand you want to come out of this looking like you were right all along but the basic fact is you weren't and aren't. Best just accept it, learn from it, and move onCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I know i'm right, Until it's proven wrong to me by my own credit report, ie making one of my applications declined whilst in excellent rating, i'll stand by everything i say. :T
The only bank that declines me is nationwide but i was with them during bankruptcy so it will be on their file for life in the background. Hence why their damn in house system declines every application, I have to appeal them all then a person accepts the application.0 -

If you're right, explain to me how my other half was approved for a Nationwide Loan for £20,000 at under 10% and a Barclaycard Platinum with £6,700 limit despite having a "Poor" Credit Expert score?
You yourself said thatIf you have a low score then you will be refused by every bankThat's common sense

You know what....we are not going to argue with you any longer....because no matter what you will not listen to anyone else despite being completely wrong....you know of course better than anyone else here so what is the point.0
