Similar questions: new drug, nicotine chewy or new environment in my mouth.... Maybe all three but it is a bit of a bu**er that it is bad today when I am working.... Ah well.... no pain, no gain.

Sending warmest bestest to you guys. Just keep truckin'

Morning MJay and everyone !! Well done on the 10 days - its 10 for me too- on my 11th today !!

You starting a new job today?? Good luck, you will be fine... good that its non smoking there too- I find that always helps.

Had a dream last night that I smoked on a night out- felt really guilty in the dream then woke up to find out it wasn't true. Was SO happy it wasn't.

Will be a test tonight- off out for a drink. Haven't decided whether it'll be alcohol or not yet- 10 days free of that too. Kind of want to keep it up as I didn't know I could do it.
    Have a great day y'all...............

  • Morning all,

Well these are my stats according to my 'quit counter'

Free and Healing for Two Days, 2 Hours and 38 Minutes, while extending my life expectancy 1 Hour, by avoiding the use of 21 nicotine delivery devices that would have cost me £6.12.

I'm a bit miffed with myself for my wobble earlier in the week, if it hadn't been for that I'd have reached my 72 hours and be nicotine free by now.
    Never mind. Onwards and upwards!

Going to friends for dinner tonight, their house has been a smoke free zone for years and it will be really nice not to have to get up from the table and stand outside in the rain. Might drive so I don't drink, but might reward my non smoking efforts with a glass or 2 of something bubbly. Can't decide!

Hope you all have fantastic smoke-free days!

  • morning Boatie_Bird. well done on 2 days. Must admit I'm dreading this weekend. But then again I think- well I can do it so why am I worrying?

How long before I don't have to think about it??

  • Hey Basil,

I have heard that 3 weeks or so is another milestone.
Maybe it starts to get easier then?

I notice you're in Northampton so we're nearly neighbours - we're on the MK/northants border!

    Hi Bas :hello:

I think it is different for each person. you only think about it because that's what you've been doing all the time you were smoking. At the risk of repeating myself (regulars look away now), if you change your car and the indicator is on the other side of the steering wheel, you will be trying to indicate using your windscreen wipers for a time. once you get used to it, you will stop thinking about it. Same goes for not smoking. youwere in a routine and are now in a different routine. It takes a while for your brain to adjust. But don't worry, it will.

    Mornin Cap'n ;)

  • Boatie_Bird- Yes I live in Northampton but work in Towcester which must be nearby??

    TNG- hi :hello: another day......

Just had a really bad craving this morning.... and its continuing. My OH is away this weekend and I used to smoke lots when not with him as I didn't when with him... thats all it is. I used to 'look forward' to having time on my own so I could smoke ! How ridiculous do I sound !!

No more so than ANY other smoker, Bas. Don't give yourself a guilt trip, it only makes it worse, as any catholic will tell you :rotfl:
