    Watcha Hel. Thanks.

Mrs T survived xmas and particularly new year ( in the company of smokers!!). She did admit to really wanting one badly, but didn't succumb. :T :T

Just gently suggesting that its in her head etc etc. Got to tread on eggshells a bit at the moment :o

How's you? You've been your usual 'vocal' self, I see....  :D
:dance:There's a real buzz about the neighbourhood

Why is so much easier for men to give up smoking than women? Seems to definitely be a fact, perhaps us women just have more stress to cope with.

Still have not succumbed, doesn't get any easier though!
Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time

    Hiya everybody!

Hope you are all enjoying a smoke free weekend!
Don't forget why you wanted to quit smoking!

There are no benefits! The fags are not your friend and they bring you nothing good.

Life is SO much more fun without that constant urge to light up.

    Have a great weekend everybody!

I don't know if it is easier for them Melbury. Maybe they just cope with the pangs differently.

What a star you are to stay strong!! Well done! :T :T :T

It does get easier! I promise!
Try to distract yourself! Try to stop thinking about cigs all the time. You can tell yourself to stop! Replace thoughts of cigs with positive thoughts about fun stuff. When the thought of a smoke lingers in your mind, sing a song! Even if it's only in your head.

    It will become easier!

Be proud of yourself! You have earned it!

  • Hi Melbury - Allen Carr does a targetted book for us ladies and I can confirm it works a treat!

If you are just having a wobble it may be worth buying just to dive into now and again

Thanks, I did actually buy this book four years ago but have never got around to reading it - perhaps now would be a good time!! Will give it a go, trouble is that it will take me quite a while to read it.

I know quite a few men who have just stopped completely - my husband included - and they didn't appear to suffer that much.

My husband always said that I would never be able to stop and annoyingly he doesn't believe that I have yet as it is only ten days!!!
