The Giving Up Smoking Thread!!

Just to put the record straight, Claridges is not a normal occurrence in my life, usually I'm lucky to get KFC! My friend and I said earlier in the year that for our birthdays (which were in April and June) we would treat ourselves to a posh dinner somewhere but in the end we were both skint (as usual ) but she's a scriptwriter and managed to get an extra commission that she wasn't expecting so said it's on her
I did say I'd buy the drinks but apparently a single spirit and mixer at the bar is £10 each  but she insisted the whole night was on her which makes me feel really guilty cos last Friday at the Prince concert the whole night was on her too as a belated birthday pressie, tickets, drinks and a Nandos
I will have to think up something fairly special for her crimbo pressie this year, I won't have any money though. Although last year I made her a nostalgic bag, this is gonna sound really sad but, I bought and old paper Saturday Swapshop (remember that programme?) carrier bag from ebay and filled it with back editions of mags from when we were young like Jackie, Look and Smash Hits (she's a journo so appreicated this), an old sheet of music of Blondie, stickers and all stuff that we used to love when growing up. I gave it to her in the pub and she burst into tears! (cos she liked it obviously, not cos she thought it was carp!

IDA, maybe I shouldn't mention this to you as you've just started the party season challenge, but I'm going to anyway! Have you ever gone on to www.aquarterof.co.uk ????? OMG  their cola bottles and sherbet are to die for, don't even mention the sweet tobacco - that's one tobacco we ARE allowed :rotfl:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0
