Oko Plus....clumps well, no odour and lasts for ages.
(GR will tell you that it's tracking drives her mad....I don't have that problem)
It is biodegradable and also flushable so poops go in the loo and the rest on the compost bin.

I used to use this too and yes, it's an excellent litter, probably the best, but I got sick of finding it all over the house and was constantly hoovering. I was persuaded to try a new biodegradeable one (forget the name now, comes in white and blue/green pack) but it was expensive £10 and lasted just 2 weeks!! It also made the house smell of cat pee :(

I've now switched to a generic wood litter type from local pet shop. Bought it over a month ago for £5 and there's still about a week's supply left. Good value for money, low odour and doesn't track! :)
“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”
  • What do people's cats make of the wood pellets? Stupid Parcelforce didn't deliver on time, and so I had to run out to PAH for emergency supplies of Oko Plus, which were sold out. I used their non-value wood pellets (I understand these are what USED to be the value stuff and was good, but is now a little more expensive - the antimicrobial one) and our kitties seemed less than impressed at the lack of softness and not being able to dig as easily.

I'm getting fed up of finding Oko Plus everywhere - although being able to flush it is super-handy - and it doesn't clump that well for our cats. The wee breaks up and there's little bits of dirty litter in the tray which make it stinky by the end of the week when it's due a change. Plus if the cats get in and start digging, they dig the clumps too - d'oh.

Anyway I used the PAH pellets and after 3 days it was mostly sawdust and needed changing. I'd have to change it more often but it would still work out cheaper overall due to price of Oko Plus. And although a few pellets escaped, it was nowhere near as bad as Oko Plus tracking.

Pros and cons for both, just wondering if the cats will object to the pellets!

Non clumping as the wood pellets are then yes, you will have to do a complete change quite often. As with any other non clumping.

Zooplys has nice offer on few litters now - thread on this boeard

I have 7 cats and all use trays. I therefore shop in bulk to save on costs. I use Yesterdays News (made of recycled newspapers) it costs me £11.58 for a 30lb bag (13.3kg) delivered but the beauty is that you only need to put in 3 litres into a large tray. From R&L Pet Products. Also recyclable so can go in the compost bin.

I have also started to use wood pellets for some of my lot which I again buy in bulk (but you can get smaller quantities) for £150 for 48 x 10kg bags which works out at 31p / kg. Delivered prices. After a lot of researching this is the cheapest way I have found to buy it. http://www.globalpp.co.uk/wood-fuel

I store it in a shed and the bags are plastic so don't get damp. Also recyclable so goes on my veg patch bext year. More money saving in compost.
