i used biokat on gettingready's advice and it is good. it clumps instantly and is v low dust unlike the others. however the 'fresh scent' smells quite acidic after a while and it has a tendency to clump in my boy's hairy rear. i only have one elderly indoor cat and i dont see it lasting months with me.
it does compare v favourably with my fave sainsbobs ultra clumping (bought in an emergency at an eyewatering price) and the deal price is fab for what you get.Emergency savings: 4600

I use sainsburys clumping, the ordinary variety. Been using it for years, does the job well.0

Thats a link to Amazon USA, I haven't checked the UK site yet as one of the reviews said...... Since I have gotten one for my mom,
I had to chuckle. It looks good though.0 -
Oko Plus....clumps well, no odour and lasts for ages.
(GR will tell you that it's tracking drives her mad....I don't have that problem)
It is biodegradable and also flushable so poops go in the loo and the rest on the compost bin.0 -

Same here, oko plus is fab!The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
I use chick crumb. A £12 bag ( I think it is about 20kg) lasts me about 6 weeks with three cats-2 of whom are essentially indoor boys. It clumps and I don't have to worry if the dogs eat some (can't see a cat eating litter but any type is manna from heaven to a dog-vet told me it was the dog's last gasp effort to avoid eating the cat itself.) the trick is to keep the litter nice and deep so nothing sticks to the bottom-makes keeping it clean much easier. No idea how long it would last without the dogs- they are very sneaky and can clear a boxful in about 20 seconds! Before this I was using the crystal type one but worried about the effect on the dogs. I also tried the 'best cat litter in the world' which was great, but too expensive as a dog snack. Oh, and it is compostible if you want.0

Oh yes... I hated the tracking.. But perhaps I got "digger cats" hat it everywhere including in my bed.. sigh.....
I know a lot of people swera by OKO Plus so must be unfortunate for me to have the experience I did with it so sticking to Biocat.

Hi folks
Well what can I say... thanks! Everyone has given rave reviews generally on the clumping variety over the non clumping.. this appears to be the best option. So I'm going to give it another try.
I've got two loos both enclosed, to try an minimise the mess. What's everyone else's opinions on the loo itself.
Enclosed or deep pan open?0
