Wish my maths lessons had involved cake.

Spent too much on things we didn't strictly need yesterday, but there were bargains too good to leave alone. £1.84 on things we strictly needed, and then £7.47 on the things we didn't, but they're being used and very much enjoyed so stuff it. So I'm now up to £128.96 out of £160, still possible but I'll have to be careful after that blowout.

Small spend today at Home B*rgains: Some Galaxy hot chocolate for work (having one of those some work mornings instead of treating myself to £1.39 cappuccino), work outs about 18p a mug so very MSE :), also some tissues for desk at work and some crisps and cereal bars for packed lunches. Total £4.84 and have updated signature.

Still hoping to come in under budget.

Made flapjacks and iced fairy cakes for school snacks/lunchboxes on day off yesterday, nearly all gone, DS and DD have hollow legs at moment, although I have helped a bit with eating :o.

Using Mr M Savers biological washing powder and Mr S Basics fabric conditioner at the moment. Absolutely fine and loads cheaper than branded.

    Keep Smiling :)

I keep thinking the same, although I've never made hot cross buns so not sure if I'm being overly ambitious! I might give them a go this week.

Hot X buns succesfully made! Quite easy, found a recipe that chucks everything in the breadmaker, only had to shape the rolls before baking. And of course putting a cross on them. They were really good, although probably not very MSE. Have not worked out the costs, but recipe had egg, milk and butter in it, plus of course mixed peel and currants. Still, had all the ingredients in the cupboards and have now lots of buns in freezer for this week :p

Good luck, will try to post recipe if I can find it again :D
