    Morning all,

Just a note to say I've just seen on HDUK (probably on here too somewhere) that Sainsburys will be having a double-up your nectar points event for the whole of April - so you can get double value when spending them on certain categories (like the Tesco promotion)

Not many more details at present, but worth not spending any points this month to see what the deal is from 1 April

    Morning everyone,

    Budgets done to here :)

No work (again) today due to the weather. I hate not being able to work, it really annoys me  Also getting fed up of FB posts from various employed people who have 'snow days'. All very well, but when you're self-employed.....:(

Anyway, back on topic. Dinner last night was N!gellas mac and cheese with green veg. I also made an apple crumble for pud to use up some apples in the bowl. Tonight we are having cottage pie with the last portion of T's mince in the freezer. Don't rate SM meat since I've been buying from DR so will be glad that it's used up. Will have it with carrots and cabbage from last weeks(?) A!di super six (may even have been the previous weeks...)

Hope everyone has a lovely day and stay safe and warm peeps.

Another small spend £5.66 in the C*-*p .... what is wrong with me !? :/ Realised how bad my spending is!

Wouldn't have been able to get to HB til Friday to stock up on raisins for DD's packed lunch so paid the extra £1 locally. She'll only eat apples, these and overripe bananas. We have no apples, bananas still ripe and didn't have any raisins.
I bought strawberries, as had major blowout yesterday and ate my body weight in crisps :( - not good when you are meant to be following SW !! Mr T's didn't have these, or value chopped toms, and they are same price. I can prep some of the meals now in slow cooker, as needed tomatoes.

Sig update ( pushing it really fine)!! Have a nice day all :)

Are you on a specific page on Facebook for them, or do you just notice what comes up in general. Can't print any off at the mo, printer keeps saying ink not recognised and it's brand new :(

    Morning everyone :hello:

So I'm already on £51.84/£80 for the month, oh dear!

Although that does include two veg boxes for the month, and I have 18 portions of various meals in the freezer which should mean I don't have to buy too much more.

Saying that though, my freezer stock has been vastly depleted the past few days by my boyfriend who devoured two portions of meatballs when we got in drunk on Saturday, had chicken AND gammon on Sunday and beef burgers, lamb burgers AND bacon last night! We don't even live together! I'll forgive him though as he buys me lots of wine and other nice treats haha :D

  • O dear, spent £22.45 on groceries and £20 on my staff card.
    (but a NSD today)

It turned out that OH will be having dinner home every day this week. Depending on his projects, quite often he will be out and about and doesn't need dinner, but not this week.

Of course, it's nicer to have dinner together, but the unpredictability of his schedule makes it a bit difficult to mealplan much in advance. Freezer seems to be stocked mainly with bread and 2 bags of peas atm, so had to get some other stuff for some variation.

Also, had to put money on my staff card yesterday for the canteen. But that should hopefully last for 2 weeks, I don't use the canteen every day and/or combine with some HM lunches.

Not working today, so will probably also do some baking for freezer. Have been eying the hot cross buns in shop but could easily make them myself (I think). :rotfl:

Yesterday's bubble & squeek was mjammie. Tonight chicken, pasta, peas. Tomorrow something with salmon.

    Have a nice day everybody!

    My budget has been blown:o

I have spent £416.93 out of a £380 budget and have a week and a half left:eek: I am struggling to do SW on my current budget, my meal planning has gone out the window, I did last weeks shop at Mr S and M&S and I dropped my budget this month without thinking it through.

I have done yet another meal plan for the next 10 days to take me up until the end of this budget month. I only need pizza bases on top of the usual fruit, salad and ham but I never just come out with this:o

DMIL is getting me milk (red and blue) and value bread today so a small spend there.

I am going to have a really good think about how I continue to eat SW and reduce my budget as its DH who needs to lose weight but I am loving the food. Some of it is getting back to doing the basics that I am getting out of the habit of doing such as listing my freezers, meal planning and keeping out of the shops!

DH and I have, after discussing it on and off for the last 2 years, bit the bullet and have arranged to get a cleaner. One of the upsides is that I can spend a bit more time on cooking and planning on a weekend to keep the spends under control.

I keep thinking the same, although I've never made hot cross buns so not sure if I'm being overly ambitious! I might give them a go this week.
