Can report a NSD, nearly went and bought Schloer and cream but had squash and ice cream we already had. YS beef from Waitrose, bought with a gift of vouchers would have cost £5.49 and I'd frozen it the day I bought it, it was absolutely beautiful. Daft as it sounds the other thing I didn't do today was buy new mustard and hosereadish, in days gone by I think I certainly would have, due to how close the use by date was. I also made the meat go further, to feed five of us, with some left over, by adding sausage, also YS from Waitrose vouchers.

The little carrots from Aldi super six were roasted and also tasted just lovely. I'd like to make my own Yorkshires but didn't want to shell out this month on a tin, I paid 49p for 15 from Aldi and was told they were brilliant and assured they must be Aunt Bessie's.

Feel chuffed and determined to carry on x

Ah i've messed up. In my excitement to get a money off code for delivery saver at Mr T's, on Food and Shopping board, i didn't read the post properly and therefore can't cancel and redo as you can't book another til this has expired and that won't be until three months time.

So now for the rest of this month i need to add a third of the cost to my total which is £12. So, i'm cutting it really fine and really peed off with myself now as i'm now stuck with shopping at Tescos. Don't know whether to phone and cancel :(.I wouldn't have minded if i had qualified for the code!

£29.08 + £16.58 + £11.96 in the big 3 this weekend. Luckily can subtract £5 for M day flowers and £6 for easter eggs (non-grocery budgets). Got a really good offer on lamb in Mr S but still almost £10 on that alone, argh!

So, £46.62 to add for the weekend, not good as I need to only be spending £30 a week to come in under budget, ouch!

had a busy morning cooking soup for my packed lunch this week (using last night's left over veg), mince and gravy, jackets and cherry and almond cake trying to get ahead this week. Its incredible how each week gets quicker and more chaotic!!

Did a couple of shops at the weekend - £55.20 in sainsbugs (it was £61) and £31.83 in Li*l. I was relatively pleased at Sainsbugs as I used a £6 off a £30 shop. I didn't keep my spend to the 20% off but a mere 10% helps.

The horrific price of F and V at sainsbugs was staggerring so i went elsewhere. It amazes me that trying to feed 6 of us, how much cheaper unhealthy food is!! I can't wait for the garden produce to come - it saves me a fortune!!

Enough ranting, i'm just over half my monthly spend. The next few weeks will have to be focused on using my freezers. Fingers crossed...

Mr T grocery delivery this morning 43.58, updated signature.

I have calmed down a bit over the fact i messed up the code for the delivery saver, and at least now if i have a short month next month with school hols, i only have to minus £12 delivery saver from budget; and should have no pet food to buy til very last week in March, should just need to top up on little things now. Have no big cleaning spends( just having bought 5l of laundry liq, and have about 12 loo rolls to last) so i'm hoping next months spends will be better. Even though it's half term, i will have no Approved Food order that month and possibly no Cloud 9 bargains order (though will need fabric softener and w-u-l from them at some point).

I think next week's shop will be wherever my Dad's going if he is heading out, as the min spend for delivery saver is £40; and with not a great deal left, i am cutting it fine. I might just have enough to do one big shop nearer the end of the month and just come in under budget, this will include pet food aswell. Might just stock up on that and totally run everything down to qualify for Aldi voucher this time, if he is off work that week.

I am hoping next month will be easier, as i won't have added a few days of the previous month on, not having to stick to cheapest delivery day now either so the weeks will run by calendar and not Tuesday to Tuesday. I need to reign it in a bit more, i can't believe how quick the money dissapears when you start totting it up!!

Tea mainly from the freezer tonight .... Thai mince and savoy cabbage to use up.

PS I really admire those who have a teeny budget and manage not to hardly spend anything!! I hope one day that this will be me :)

    Phew it got long ...!

    Hi everyone,

What a depressing day! Snowing here and bitterly cold brrrrr!

Needed milk, drinks for DS1 to take to school, rolls, ham etc. etc. so decided to drive to T's instead of walk. Bad/good move depending on how you look at it. Dog food on offer plus I had a coupon, coffee on offer and I had a coupon, the list goes on.

Spent £39.56 from GC which included a roast chicken for Sunday, fish fillets plus mini sausages for t-i-h. Spent £27 odd from 2nd purse on dog food, coffee refills, and some pack up bits.

Need to update my totals, but still fairly confident for this month, fingers-crossed.

    Have a good day all.

    Hi everyone

Not doing well this month, more than half way through budget and it's only 11th! Feb's budget went pear-shaped, too, but still trying hard. :D

Spent over £30 today, some was for a birthday present and the item was 25% off, so not bad. Kids are at birthday party at teatime, so DH and I are having stir fry with chicken LO from yesterday. Tomorrow should be a NSD, apart from DS needing new socks, so will go to sports shop and not into town directly, then won't be tempted to spend! :rotfl:

    Back to lurkdom now!

    A xo
