Updating: OH spent £27:40 at T'co-op yesterday, so now at £121:91/£150 with one shop to go til payday on the 19th. Will be tight but should be ok. Need to inventory and meal plan in a moment. I am trying to be more relaxed about it all. I think my stress from work is spilling over to my stress about money. Breathe!

Have a day off work "woohoo". So have time to do some cooking. Will make spicy lentil soup for lunch I think and then we're out at a gig this evening.

This weeks spends are a bit of a mystery. I know what I've spent but oh has had a week off work and has seemed to visit the sm a LOT even though we have plenty in cupboards. I spent £6.00 at Pound*and on bits for my work lunches next week that I've left at work so I don't eat it or forget it. Will only need to add some fruit to that. I am going to guesstimate OH has spent £30 this week on bits and pieces. I also spent £4.50 last night on veggies for our Chicken Itame last night and a choccie bar treat for snacking with our movie. Oh, and £1.50 on a bacon roll on way to work.
So that's £42 to add to my total.
Lol i have just had a week off work shopped like mad have plenty in the cupboards that i take care when opening "lady knock unconscious by a tin of chopped tomatoes"

Afternoon, everyone! Today is going to be another NSD - got to love weekends for that. Another NSD to add to my annual tally. Well, the shopping list is done, so is the mealplan for the coming week and it'll be quite a big shop this week. We'll be having chilli con carne tonight with jacket potatoes and perhaps some grated cheese.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone. Take care.

Meal plan done. Only need milk and some pasta, but might sub rice so don't have to buy that.
Sun: Celeriac gratin and roast cabbage wedges
Mon: chickpea and leek soup with rolls
Tues: mozzarella and beetroot salad, swede and Parmesan bake
Weds: pasta with cabbage and walnut pesto
Thurs: white bean burgers and wedges

I have cinnamon rolls rising and I am going to make some crumble mix to have in the freezer.

My kids gave me a cup of tea in bed this morning, some homemade cards and some bath things. One of them was a de-stressing bath soak! I need to take that message.

Washing powder needed and then couldn't resist 3 bargain half price chickens for the freezer. Sig updated and I think it will be a miracle if we are on budget this month but looking on the bright side - we could survive a two month siege:D

Hope you are all doing better than me:o

    Your meals sound lussssh!
Re value bread I have to admit to hating it! sometimes we have to compromise on one or two things-that doesn't make us fail. Do you ever make your own? Chin up you are doing great! Look after your relationship as well as your finances though-some things are worth more than money.

  • I've just made a nice big veggy risotto-enough for about six people. Now I may be eating it all week on my own but I am trying to cut down on the saturated fats so I have been good re that. I've been naughty too tho as I made Baileys last night-gave one to my SIL today for a surprise gift. Ive eaten naughty today-breakfast was 2 slices of bread and real butter and 2 bourbon biscuits, lunch was a 100g bar or organic caramel chocolate! Oh and coffee coffee coffe! I will be good tomorrow-it's MY day today!
