Hmm I've not been great at keeping track so far this month - I've eaten out quite a lot and been away from home for a few days too! Anyway, I think so far I've spent £42.65 - will try and keep better track from now on for the rest of the month! I think I'm on track for being under my £200 budget though, just need to do a proper meal plan and shop this week.
    Savings target: £25000/£25000

£55.52 spent today - £48 petrol (I know that's not really allowed in the grocery budget but helps keep me on track!) £7.52 on cereal bars, pizzas (to stop the kids getting takeaways when I'm out this evening) and bread (bread-maker failed last night :()

So , current spend this month £67.54/£180

Have a good day everyone :T

My sig is up to date on what we've spent. £4 in Mr S t'other day as OH's favourite cereal bars (Jordans) are on half price, so just £1 each. He is missing his treats, so I thought I'd get him those so he'd feel less rubbish about cutting back. I have had 2 or 3 NSDs this week too, woop!

Hoping the mothership will bring us eggs, so another 93p expected to spend today, plus whatever bargains we find in the grocers in town! Not much though, should keep today under £5, and working all day tomorrow, so another NSD expected!

  • hi, can you put me down for £350 this month. i just managed to come in under budget in feb which ive just added up. Hubby may be made redundant in the near future so am trying to cut down as we would only have about £600 a month for everything if he does lose his job.

  • I have been AWOL again as I have just been so busy! Happily I am working and I have discovered a way of controlling my overcooking habit! As I run my own home and someone elses I double cook(as was my norm)on occasions and I give them half of it! Well-give is the wrong word-I cook for them and I add it to the household bill-they are happy with that! I am running down my cupboards and shelves a little at long last as I am slowly adjusting to us being a 3 person household and not a five person one. It certainly takes some adjustment! I still have receipts to put in my book and start totting up but I do know I am spending a lot less on groceries. I've just invested in an offer of 5 fruit trees and 3 blueberry bushes which will arrive soon. Unfortunately got double charged!!! along with the fruit trees I already have I should have a huge supply in the future. DS and DD seem to buy junk food out side recently(it is not on my list). I wish they didn't but it means I cannot really do a menu plan worth sticking to. So----I am going to start just thinking of myself! There is still plenty in the freezer if they want to eat REAL food. Some days I have been eating fridge scraps to avoid waste and my frozen bread has certainly helped me not to waste. Today I've got out some peas beans carrots and one pork chop for me and a couple of burgers for DS. DD going out so little needed. I have also thawed out some frozen apples so I will make a crumble with those. I've also bought gardening supplies to grow toms and cucumber like hubby did(RIP)but I am no gardener! I am determined to become one though over the next few years so that I am fairly self sufficient.

£91.98/£550 I can not believe how much I have spent on just picking up few bits here and there. Though I did buy half a sack of spuds, baby formula and nappies. Off to do a huge shop later hoping to bag myself a few bargains/ offers may nip to Morries and buy a few chickens for the freezer.

Plan of action for the week
    1) try and use up all the odd packets of mixes lurking in the cupboards
    2) Have a baking session to bulk out those packed lunches. May even try my hand at flapjacks.
    3) Start sorting out the shed I plan to store my stockpile of tins and laundry products , loo rolls and toiletries here eventually.
    4) After my big shop today I am going to draw £50 pounds out of the bank on wens day for my grocery purse and use only that for top up shops for the week and try to spend a little as possible.
    5) Get back on the coupon hunt!

I will come in under budget !

Done the Mr T run this morning - managed to spend £40.07 on groceries and £11 ish on stuff for school and a couple of books (not included in the grocery budget).
That takes me up to about £65 but I have plenty of food in and should only need fresh bits next week.
Some of the prices have shot up - last week the dog food I buy was £3 this week it £3.48  Other items had 20p added on to the price too- makes a big difference across the whole grocery shop.

Just need to plan the week's menu around what I have (I know, the wrong way around!:o) and what will go off first.

Well I think that is often the best way to do things! Even if we menu plan we have things left over and things to use up! Well done I say!
