Re value bread I have to admit to hating it! sometimes we have to compromise on one or two things-that doesn't make us fail. Do you ever make your own? Chin up you are doing great! Look after your relationship as well as your finances though-some things are worth more than money.
Thank you, you are right to say look after your relationship too.
I love making bread - kids hate it! We brought them up to eat healthily, lots of veg - I think this is their rebellion. They insist they hate all bread apart from white sliced...and blinking wraps! I think value bread is probably going too far, particularly as I won't eat it :rotfl:

Did get lots of bread, rolls, crumpets & nibbles all reduced for freezer :T plus some frozen bargains and a large sack of reduced price potatoes ( at how much they should of been!)
Had a slow cooked chicken with mash, veggies, yorkshires and gravy for tea followed by mint ice-creamYUM
This had led to a meal plan for tomorrow of h/m chicken curry & rice and while searching the freezer for space made me think h/m fish pie & veggies on Tuesday

just shy of £70 spent in Makro today - much more than planned but we are now well stocked. we bought :
5kg chicken breasts
1kg lean beef mince
1large tub of millions sweets (early anniversary treat for bf as the last one i bought him ran out earlier than planned)
1 box bbq space invaders (reduced)
1 sheet bacon fries crisps
90wash box of surf laundry detergent (should last 6 months)
an easter egg for me
6 2lt bottles of coke
6 2lt bottles of dandelion and burdock
takes us over budget with two weeks left in which we will need bread, ham, cheese, milk and fruit/veg but not too worried as what has been bought will last at least three months so will average out this pricey month with a lower budget for the next three months

Another 2 NSD!
We had a lovely Sunday dinner, lamb cutlets with boiled potatoes, brussels sprouts (from freezer), green beans and HM redcurrant jelly. And pudding made with frozen berries/currants.
I always have red fruit with yogurt for breakfast, I buy various frozen red fruit/mixed berries packs and put them all together in a big tub in the freezer. 2 spoons full in the morning in a little container with some yogurt and ready to take to work. By the time I'm at work the fruit has defrosted and the yogurt stays nice and cool. I think this work out cheaper than those ready made pots from the supermarkets, and probably has more fruit in it as well
Anyway, a lot of the red fruit mixes have black or red currants in them, not my favourite, so quite often I end up with mainly those left over (after fishing out all the "nicer" berries). So I've put these in a pyrex bowl, topped up with some sponge mix, baked it and served it with some custard! Mjammie:D
Leftovers from today, and yesterday's mash/veggies will be made into a bubble and squeek variation tomorrow.
Can't meal plan for rest of the week yet, but have some bits and pieces in the freezer so hope to use most of that, with only a few small shops until next weekend..:rotfl:0
