Went to Aldi and Sainsbury's today and spent £78.41 between them! We had started to get low on some basics though and now we are well stocked. I have £71.49 left until the 19th, my payday. Should be possible!

Evening all - £4.49 on a bottle of wine this evening (well it is saturday) but nothing else. Daughter back from Uni for the weekend so I raided the freezer only to find she went to grandparents for lunch and couldnt do my 3 course extravaganza evening meal justice! Well, I will serve up the leftovers tomorrow so they wont be wasted. But that means I have £353.73 for the rest of the month and its only the 2nd! Dont think Im much good at this BUT I will keep trying.0

Please can you put me down for £25 this month.APR NSD - 0/10
Paid off in 2013 so far £125.00
April Money made - £18.000 -
Did a top up shop at Mr T today and finally used a list (have got out of the habit) and pretty much stuck to it.
Spent £24.55 including 2x 8 packs of Pepsi Max at £1.99 each for work. £6 of the spend was also on dog food so really only £16 on my food for the week which was mostly fresh bits and pieces and breakfast biscuits and a massive box of Kellogs crunchy nut cornflakes on offer for £1.57 that will last me months (I only eat cereal a couple of times a week).
I really want to come in below budget this month, the last two have not been brilliant.:o0 -
ARGH spent £12.50 in Tesc@ and i'm not even sure what on. Given I reciped and meal planned and I've got my shopping list written i haven't a clue why. Ah well, the shopping should be just over £40 (bumped up with stuff to use a coupon) the coupon for £6 and clubcard voucher for £5.50 should keep me within budget. Congratulations Suzexxx:j
A £10.74 spend in Mr T to report was higher but I used a £13 off £90 voucher as I bought clothes for me and DS (diff budget) and some stationary for work/college. Spend was on EV kitchen towel, strawbs x 2, a donut for DS, fizzy water and wine and cider.
I am determined to have a low spend week next week to keep my budget under control as I have spent more than I should have at this point in my month:oSave £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
So many good ideas and inspiration on this thread. I haven't spent anything on groceries yet this month and hope to get to Tuesday when will need bread and other bits.
Reading through the thread makes me realise I could be making more stuff at home rather than buying packaged stuff, I'd like to aim to do HM scones and flapjacks at some point for my girls' lunches. I'd also like to stop buying oven chips and make HM potato wedges more often. Time has always been a factor but I have more of that for the moment.
Today am cooking a roast dinner but with chicken drumsticks bought with Waitrose vouchers not counted in budget as they were a freebie, am giving each of us one less than would usually have had to make them go further and will be bulking meal up with bigger amount of veg. I'm very overweight so that's a good idea anyway.
Sorry to be thick but can anyone tell me what YS stands for?
Thanks so much x0 -
Finally, I wanted to share that I have made my own bread today for the first time ever!!!! Feel like I should get a gold OS star or something! Was surprised how easy it was and we had lovely hot rolls with our dinner. Will definitely be making more.
Have mealplanned until a week on Thursday now, so feeling quietly confident about this month, but we will see.
Have a great weekend x
