First spend of the month was yesterday - £5.18, for that I managed milk, two tubs of Philly (bogof), crackers and soda crystals. Didn't need the last bit yet, but my local T never ever has them in stock, I am down twice a week at least and check every time, so bought them when they were available! Trying to not treat myself on expensive stuff this month, so cheese and crackers will be a treat, as will HM scones on Sunday as these are so much cheaper than the pizza or supermarket takeaway I would usually "have" to have at the weekend.

ImDoingItForMe I used to work for a well known health and beauty retailer, and as a result, I don't think I will need to buy shower gel, toothpaste or femcare for the rest of the year and I'm already 8 months into my stock!

Can I be put down for £100 please. I've become terrible at keeping track of how much we spend, so hopefully this will help. This is to include any household items we buy with food shopping and also any meals out from today until the 31st.

Hi Hi, after managing February's challenge (just) at £50 a week, please could I have the same for March.
£50 a week. For me, due to the weird way we get paid, March is a five week month. So £250 to play with.Good luck everyone.

  • Lol K9sandFelines and Bexim. It is a nightmare sometimes. I do want the bargains and im really chuffed and greatfull to get them. I dont always do well as sometimes i see them but when working i cant get them, then when i finish there gone. But ive got enough YS toiletries and soap powder to last me a year too. Everyday i always say to myself no i wont buy anything, i dont need anything but when im getting it reduced to well over 50% ide be daft not to. I never thought of doing this until this year, and have always shopped weekly to a meal plan, but thats gone out the window and now i just plan my meals around what i can get reduced. Im quite savvy on the prices so i do know if its a decent reduction but ive been caught out a couple of times thinking im saving more money by using coupons so sometimes it doesnt work.
  • Could i be put down for £300 for March please. My month started on the 1st and runs until the end of the month. I did go a little over last month. Will try to be under this month. The freezers have a reasonable amount in but the cupboards are a bit bare to say the least.
I have just made a jelly and have just put a cake in the oven. I usually bake when the oven is on but as the tins are empty i thought why not. Hubby is over the allotment so i will take him a piece when it is cooked with a cup of tea.
    Good luck to everyone else.

    Morning all

    Update on the spends -

Have now done the calculations from my shopping yesterday - it's rather scary - but trying to remind myself that I've bought lots of offers, I bought 3 boxes of washing powder as it was boxes of 25 wash powders - if you bought 3 you got all 3 for £10 - so effectively 75 washes for £10 - I never use the full amount of powder either - as mix expensive washing powder with cheaper to make it go further. Spent £149.01/£400 budget - so spent more than I wanted but have very good stocks of non-perishables and realistically should have a much cheaper shop over the next couple of weeks - we'll see!

Have a great day and enjoyable weekend, keep safe and well x

Back in this month wih £450
Thats for 2 adult, DD1 (10 yr old veggie, DD2 8, dog and is for all shopping related things (smellies, foods, booze, household cleaning etc)

Already had a Ocado delivery had £15 off voucher plus spend in co-op for £15 so £130 gone so far but lots of store cupboard items stocked up. Trip to butcher today although still have quite a bit left from feb in the freezer. I also got a £6.50 refund from my shop due to Ocado's price promise so quite impressed with them :-)
  • £300 for me this month, to include food, household cleaning and general toiletries, dog food. There are 3 adults and one dog so that should see us through. I have menu planned for the next three weeks and done a list of what is in the freezer. Next job is to go through the tins and packets cupboard and find out what is lurking in there. Managed to buy a Daily Mirror on Thursday for the Aldi voucher so off there later for fresh veg/fruit for the week.
