I have no idea what that looks like but I want to play with it. :rotfl: What are you going to call it?0

We're undecided atm, we have a few potentials but it depends on his little character really.
Currently watching bake off in my pjs, my hotel room with a cider - i know how to party!

Hello everyone, sorry it's late but I've been busy with the puppy dog and as I'm stuck in my hotel room tonight, I thought now would be an ideal time to update.
Scores on the doors:
Credit Card: £0 NOT to be used
Loan: £9000 0% - 1st payment due any time now
Emergency Fund: £800/£1000 - this is the loan OP waiting to go
Baby Fund: £1250/£3000
Round-down account: £183.57
So at the moment we're waiting for the 1st loan DD to go out. It should have gone out on the 1st so I need OH to ring (as the loan is in his name) to see what has gone on. We ideally want to pay £1k a month off it, £800 of which is an OP. However, a lovely crack has appear on our bedroom ceiling. Its only a really thin crack, like a plaster crack but it's concerning so I'm not committing to overpaying until we get to the bottom of the problem. The baby pot is ticking over nicely but no new there so it will definitely be maturing without needing to serve its purpose. I'm adamant this money is NOT to be used for debt though.
Also - b00ts had Christmas bits in their shop - it's coming!:xmassmile

Hello everyone
Great news - I passed my P3 CIMA exam! :j:j:j:j:j:j
This means I only have 1 exam left to do until i'm a qualified accountant! This isnt until Feb (tuition starts in Jan) so I can have a lovely little break at Christmas. Scary though that the exams are nearly over, i seem to have been doing them for so long now it's become a way of life.
Work is also really hectic. We've had a systems upgrade and everything is going wrong. Putting in a lot of hours just to stay afloat but i suppose that's how it goes sometimes. It'll be worth it in the end as doing a good job coupled with finishing CIMA will be good for my career.
House wise - we're having the fireplace put in and had a chimney sweep come out to inspect and clean the chimney. All seems fine so we should be able to have a lovely cosy coal firePerfect for Christmas. We're also getting the work done on the other chimneys so the house is coming along. We still have cracks in the bedroom ceiling though, cant work out if they're plaster cracks or not.
Scores on the doors:
Credit Card: £0
Loan: £8800 2%
Emergency Fund: £1500 - this is for the chimney work
Baby Fund: £1500/£3000 - half way!

Weirdly enough I can't wait for my next exam. It could be the last!
This week we're having the work done on our chimneys. Not cheap. I think I'll look at my debt plan in the new year. No point in fretting when it's only overpayments I'm talking about. The work on the house is more important at the moment.
I think it's probably feasible to have the loan paid off by Sept 15. Unless I decide to get the new boiler... Or ensuite... Or decorate the master bedroom....or carpet the upstairs. Hmm, definitely more thought needed!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Well done jonesy! So proud of you! What's your final exam?
Sept 15? 16 maybe?
I like the thought of an ensuite, but how easy are they to install? just seems like a lot of (scary) work to me.
Well done again! x0 -
I meant 16! Hopefully the en suite shouldn't be too much of a challenge, it's using an external wall and already has plumbing because that's hwere the hot water tank currently is.
Final exam is in Feb, with tuition starting in January.:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Hello Everyone!
I'm feeling very festive :xmassmile as December is here! I love Christmas.
Finances are not quite to plan but i'm happy about them (strangely). So we had the chimney work done last week, bye bye £1800. And the cracks in virtually every room of the house were causing me much worry and stress so we paid for a structural survey to be done, bye bye £400. As it turns out, the house isn't falling down (yay!) but there's been a few bodge jobs on stud walls and plastering. Although it was £400 to tell me that, I really do feel like a weight has been lifted. Plus we have come back if it is anything more sinister. We asked the engineer about extension plans/ ensuites etc too so it was quite an informative afternoon.
All this means that there were no debt repayments. In fact I'm in my overdraft by £500. But all will be rectified come payday. I feel so much better going into Christmas knowing the house is fine (deja vu from last year!). All presents have been bought over the last couple of months too so i'm happy with the situation.
Scores on the doors:
Loan: -£8600 4%
Emergency Fund: £0
Baby Fund: £1750/£3000
Round-down account: £0.52 (raided for presents)
:xmastree:
Goals for the end of 2015:- Pay off Overdraft
- Get Loan account down to £8k
- Finish decorating the bigger living room so we can put the tree up!
