That's so exciting! I really hope you get it, it'll be great! It's so positive that they asked you to apply.
Aww, you must be looking forward to your holiday. I might be going on holiday as well but who knows?0 -

Thanks guys, i'm extremely happy and proud of myself to be honest. The pay rise will definitely come in handy!
I've adjusted my budgets accordingly:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

As promised, my amended DFDs from my amended budgets:
- £1k emergency fund: Nov 2015
- Credit card: Christmas 2015
- Loan: June 2016 (to be at the half way point at Christmas)
Things I haven't factored in:- Chimney work
- New fireplace
- New boiler
- New sofa
The new fireplace is purely aesthetic and the boiler works. It's just not very efficient. Chimneys do need re-pointing but I'm going to see if we can get a family friend to quote. If he isn't able to do it, then further research is definitely needed. We were quoted £1400 +VAT so it's not an insignificant sum. Sofa wise, we could get a 0% deal if we really wanted.
I will be a happy bunny if we get to Christmas with just £3500 of the loan left to pay and no other debts. Looking forward to approx April time, then we can look at house improvements like the boiler etc. I had considered getting a cheap loan through OH but things will look a lot better by Christmas, and emergencies can happen so a loan would be an escape route should we need it.
Plus, we've now started our TTC journey, god knows what 2016 could end up looking like!:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Me again, I've decided to throw more at the CC and build up the emergency fund towards to end of the year. Riskier (as we won't have a buffer) but cheaper
So now the credit card should be paid off by November - 3 pay days to go! Feeling positive as breaking things down into smaller goals, not so far in the future just seems less scary.
Plus, it would be a lovely feeling to have a clear CC by Christmas :xmassmile:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

It's only a short time without a buffer! Besides you are sensible so if something does come up then you will adapt!
So proud of you!
How is the new job?
I've been on my first audit and wanted to tell you because I... only have one accountant friend irl and she's vanished. It was very weird!0 -
The new job is going well thanks, I'm a busy bee as we have auditors in (lol!) Bit stressful, but it a good way because i'm being pushed and learning loads.
What was your audit on/which field etc?
Thanks for the calming words too:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:
