Exactly, that site is a joke :)

On the contrary, that site basically echoes the 'esteem' the energy industry as a whole is held in by the general public - at the last reckoning one of the least trusted industries out there.

Spark have a HUGE %tage of reviews on that site (the vast majority hugely negative) compared to their tiny user base, which suggests they are doing none too well on the CS front/any front?

Exactly, it tars the whole industry (and pehaps the whole business world) with the same brush.

About as useful as a chocolate teapot!

    Edit:
e.g. Look at the shocking reviews on that site of loobiloo's' preferred supplier, First Utility  They are not one of the Big 6 either.

Huh? Bizarre spin there. Check out Google for the general consensus on the energy industry.

I don't need to check out google.

I have personal experience of many suppliers.

British Gas - meh, but would possibly use them again if they were cheap enough
Eon - meh, they'd have to be really cheap to tempt me back (sorry Eon reps)
Scottish Power - They were ok. Had a few quirks, but seemed to keep to their word over resolutions when I called them ((even if they did sound more a bit dubious/a fob-off at the time) Would use them again
NPower - pretty awful customer service, but once a complaint gets escalated to the higher level, then common sense seems more available. Not my supplier of choice.
EDF - currently with them. No real issues, but online set up can be a bit slow. Not got my last months bill yet, despite having provided them with meter redaings online.
Still I managed to survive without monthly billing or online access for years, so these are just add ons. They are really cheap for me (but my tariff is no longer available to new applicants, but it's fixed for another year and no early exit fees either) and that is the key to moneysaving.
Ovo - Really good. I found their customer service as though they really wanted to get to the bottom of any complaint and resolve it. The call handlers sounded like they really cared. Would certainly use them again without any hestiation (if they were competitive)
Ebico - use SSE for their customer service which is ok. You can also complain directly to Ebico about non-billing issues or issues you feel SSE are not adequately addressing (but I don't think Ebico have access to your individual account, so only general matters over billing can be addressed that way). I do like their simple, no nonsense approach to billing. They promptly rebill you based on your own reading, if you supply one following am estimated bill (as this is via SSE, presumably it applies to all SSE accounts)

I'm not saying this is the overall concenus of everyone; it's just my fair and reasonable findings of the suppliers I have used. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and some may have diametrically opposed opinions of certain suppliers :)
(It's just some people want more than their fair share of their opinion, it would appear ;)
Even when, sometimes, they have no experience of which to speak!)

Who do you use as a supplier MillicentBystander? And how do you find them?

EDF - cheap (or they were at the time I signed up on the Blue fixed deal) but awful in general until I decided to simply go through the CEOs office by email. Much better then but of course this wouldn't work if everyone did this. My mate joined the same time as me (2 years ago, we were originally on the Energy/Online saver V2? Got cash back from TCB and £100 from EDF) and STILL hasn't managed to get them to bill him for his gas (he's really really tried and now is content with their incompetence after i explained the 12 month back billing rule).

PS I agree with you about trying before having a view but the people on here ARE Spark customers but you don't seem willing to accept their criticisms, which sort of negates your argument somewhat...

Loobiloo doesn't appear to have been supplied by Spark yet, and so certainly won't have paid for anything from Spark yet.

I'm not sure how you would define a customer ... ;)

(As for all the other newbie accounts, how can you be sure they are a Spark customer, and even if they are, and how can you be sure it is not the same customer?)

Why would I do that? Do you think I enjoy having to explain myself to people who like arguing on a message board? I do have quite a busy life, believe it or not.

Oh dear, this is getting a tad tedious. Let me spell it out clearly for you:
Spark at present do not supply my energy.
Spark want to take over my energy from First Utility in 10 days time.
They more than doubled their initial costing to me.
I didnt want to accept this revised price.
I have asked FU to put an objection into place to stop them taking over.
I will not know if this objection is accepted until 10 days time.
If they do take over then it will have been done erroneously and Spark will have to transfer my supply back to FU at no cost to myself.

I do hope thats cleared things up for you.
