You should always pay the standard tarrif for your parking ( where applicable)
If you dont have any change for the machine , then go and get some from somewhere even if you get a ticket attached to your car for leaving site carry on and buy the ticket at the standard rate.
If you want to find somewhere else or somewhere cheaper to park, then try the parkopedia website http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/
    From the Plain Language Commission:

"The BPA has surely become one of the most socially dangerous organisations in the UK"
  • Yep, I agree. Private Parking Companies know this site is a thorn in their sides and their coming onto here shows it is. :):)

Hello PPC, I know you reading this ;)

  • Smith didn't pay and he won. You don't have to pay why are you pretending that you should. Just park and ignore any tickets even if you get sued you will win.

Sarah you are just showing that you have an ulterior motive here, we don't encourage or endorse people not to pay legitimate and fair charges to park. I suggest you come clean and say what your motives are.

  • My motive - how to save money. Nothing I have read suggests I can't.

can't understand the backlash though. Everything on these forums is about how to get out of paying for a ticket aren't you all being a bit holier than thou.

Yes it's about getting out of illegal penalties issued by parking companies, so you are right in that aspect. But we don't say, do or encourage people not to pay fair parking charges.

You have another agenda apart from saving money, that can clearly be seen by your posts, and as such will be reported to mse for them to decide whether you are, and whether your IP address matches others used to post here.

I like to think that this site is fair - if you park and there is a fee, you pay it because that is the cost of doing so. To avoid, or refuse because you feel you have better things to do with your money is self-defeating and you won't get much support or sympathy on here.

Where this site assists, is in exploding the myth that PPC tickets are 'fines' when they are only an invitation to pay an invoice. We also know that landowners are happy to get these services free of charge whilst the PPC's business model is based on issuing tickets to make their work profitable. Usually for spurious reasons of little or no relevance.

Now that IS unfair! And we'll do all we can to highlight this to make it generally known that it is invariably a con and needs to be exposed as such.

Sometimes genuine not-too-bright people come on a forum and completely misunderstand threads or have a tenuous grasp of simple matters.

If Sarah is a PPC troll, can't quite see what points she was making that aided their case. Her simple reason for being on here was stated as "No just looking for a legal way to save money"

Be charitable - give her the benefit of the doubt and consider her earlier posts suggest that she is intellectually challenged instead.

Why would you though? How can a car park owner get people to pay if issuing a Ticket is a scam and can't be enforced.

I'm guessing you don't pay for goods at supermarkets either then ? After all it's very easy to slip them into a pocket and walk out without getting caught.
All aboard the Gus Bus !
  • I have never posted on this forum before so my IP address will not match anyone else's. You have all got double standards. Anyone who quotes Smith is supporting not paying in a P&D car park cos you can get away with it. Looks to me like NCP don't really have a business. last time I pay in a P & D car park.
