Yet again you have got it wrong. Smith lost the case but only had to pay the £15 for the two unpaid P&D tickets. Please get your facts straight.

  • That's exactly my point Smith didn't pay got taken to court and only had to pay what he should have paid in the first place. So he won really. Everyone who quotes Smith as a defence is advocating this approach which I don't see anything wrong with. As I said before though I wouldn't like to be NCP

Everything on these forums is about how to get out of paying for a ticket

You have all got double standards.

    Come on....

You've never posted on here before yet you feel qualified to state that EVERYTHING we post on here is about how to dodge paying for tickets - no evidence produced - and that we ALL have double standards - again, no evidence produced.

Take your time if you like...

Smith also had to take time off to attend court and pay nearly £100 in costs. So not a very good money-saving move.

If you pay the P&D fee then you have the moral high ground, as opposed to the PPC scammers who have no morals at all.

  • So Smith had to pay costs as well why didn't someone say that earlier. Looks like it cost him more than it would have done to just pay the ticket. That adds a different complexion to my idea of just not paying and ignoring the tickets. Guess none of you guys supported him though as he was a non payer. Why does his case get quoted.

Sarah try backing up your comments with facts, we are still waiting for your links to where we have said not to pay for parking.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

The way i see it is that that case was a draw, neither side won, although both claim it as a victory.
if you have visited a pay and diisaply car park, then as already stated umpteen times previously you should pay.
if you forget to pay and make a genuine mistake then you should offer the standard tarrif such as £2.70 for three hours of parking to the car park owner as a full and final settlement.
If they reject this then so be it, but you would have made reasonable efforts to compensate them for their loss.

  • Last post. In my opinion anyone who gives advice or support to a motorist who hasn't paid and gets a ticket condones this behaviour After a short time looking through the various threads on this forum there is plentiful evidence that this has happened. I don't have a problem with this but I think it is two faced behaviour to then say people should pay. You are never going to agree with me or change your attitude so I am not going to continue with this discussion.

    Plentiful?

Point us towards some, it shouldn't be too difficult if it is so 'plentiful'.

You come on here and accuse us of stuff we know we haven't done and then you carry it on until arriving at a post entitled 'Last Post' and continuing to slag us off for stuff we haven't done. No evidence offered whatsoever.

You sir, are a proper nasty piece of work.

    Now do one, troll.

I think your missing the point somewhat, and unless im mistaken you appear to have an agenda.

The objection on here is not to avoiding paying for your pakring, its to the high un enforcable parking charge notices that PPCs impose upon un suspecting motorists who often panic, and pay up losing huge amounts of cash/money in the process which they shouldnt have to pay.
    in sumary;

Pay the advertised standard rate, dont pay the trumped up penaltys that PPCs dress up as parking charge noticesm,, if youi forget to pay then you sshould offer the stated rate ( such as £2.50 or whatever) to the car park owner as compensation for their loss, entirly at your discretion you could also offer the DVLA fee of £2.50 to cover expenses.

Park where you should and dont cause an obstruction.

leave disabled spaces for those who need them, parking in a disabled space because your too lazy to walk a few extra yards, or cant be bothered to find an extra space makes you just as bad as the PPC lot.

and finaly what has any of this got to do with the somerfield vs Parkng eye case/situation???
