How to connect external 3G HELP!!

Something else you could try - get a wireless router that will take a dongle or a mifi-like device which will take the sim card.
We're currently using 11 x TP-Link TL-MR3420 wireless routers (other models exist) with 4G dongle sticks for ad-hoc broadband covering a large construction/show site in UAE, they're reliable enough.
At home (UK) I use a lesser model I bought for £30-odd on Amazon (another TP-Link, can't remember the model number) with a T-Mobile dongle, works a treat. Then you can connect the tablet via wifi very simply.0 -
is there any credit on the vodafone SIM in the dongle ???......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Hi there!
Now, the dongle flashes intermittently, and it flashes green.
When using this dongle at home on my laptop, it flashes green , then goes solid green and sometimes blue when a connection is made.

Thanks for the reply, but as mentioned in my original post.....
"idiot speak"
Your post is total gobbledeegook, I'm so sorry!!
Just to clarify.. we are able to use our wireless broadband on the tablet ( at home) with no problem at all.0 -

Many thanks for your reply.
We have tried these settings to no avail unfortunately.0 -
Perhaps you can provide a list of all of the information being requested.
Have you entered the Dial up number anywhere? Made the Vodafone profile the default connection?
Do you live in the back of nowhere? Whilst it is great that you have a no expiry SIM, it is not that great when you are only getting a GPRS signal.
I too have one of these SIMs, but I can't check the settings as the corresponding machine is not with me.0 -
UPDATE :
So sorry not been in touch guys, but have been hit by the latest
flu-type bug that is going around at the moment ( not nice!)
I have now passed the tablet to my daughter to see if she can sort it
Many many thanks again for all your time and effort, it has been much appreciated !!:):):)

I'd recommend a mifi like device as well because as long as the device has wireless, it will work the mifi device with no setup required. Another benefit is that you can place the mifi device where you want so if you get best reception by the window you can leave it there and use it anywhere nearby.
OP - a mifi device is like your home broadband router but instead of connecting to the phoneline, instead it connects to 3G. They're small battery powered devices so all you do is power it up, tell it to connect then you connect your tablet, laptop or similar simply by browsing to the mifi's wireless network, putting the WPA key in and then away you go.
