How to connect external 3G HELP!!

It may be the 'APN' needs setting up
An APN details will be something like
APN = pp.internet
username = web
password = web
here is a link to a youtube vid where someone with a similar/same tablet as you have connects using a 3G usb dongle. Its not Uk but you may spot the menu settings where to add the APN details in your tablet
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ohiwi--OiMM
Also, according to that user - wifi has to be set to OFF but I have no way of checking if that is really the case.
You will get the APN details from this web site here
http://www.mobilez.org/support/apns/uk/
scroll down to the Vodafone settings that match your dongle.
Good luck.
To the OP:
This is important, as there are quite a few different plans and so profiles from which to select.
Which is your Vodafone data package?0 -

You're probably right about that.

Hi All
Many thanks for the replies so far.
Sorry not been on to reply, but on 'nana duty' and currently under the influence of a very giddy 5 yr old !!
I tried the utube link, as suggested, and this got me so far, but when his comes up at the end of the clip with '3g connected' , mine says ;no internet connection'
I have managed to reset the APN ( even though it kept asking for MCC & MNC :eek:), which I managed to find online ! ( quite pleased with myself !)
The vodafone data package for the dongle is : prepay , no expiry
Thanks for the help so far guys !!0 -

How does the modem respond whilst all this is going on? What colour lights? Flashing or solid?0 -
Someone gave me an Android for Christmas.
I took the dongle with prepaid SIM for Three network out of my laptop, put it in the tablet and it worked immediately!Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Same here, I have a chinese Tablet, a Ployer on ICS 4.03, I plugged in my Huawei USB 3G dongle and it just found it and connected up. It has an O2 contract SIM.
If its got as far as seeing the dongle its probably down to settings and should be solvable.0 -
I wonder if there is a pin lock on your USB dongle, and that if you don't get the option to enter the pin, the dongle won't work... maybe the other dongles work fine because you've not set the pin...
if you have another computer, plug the dongle in, and turn off the pin lock, and then try again...?Having fun trying to save money without going over the top and living on budget food all the time...0
