The MSE email went out last Friday, and there was a limit of 500 orders. Which renders pretty much everything you've said as irrelevant.
Then you're equally wrong.
A limit of 500 orders at that price, a further 1000 orders at £19.99, and presumably unlimited orders at the standard price. There were 2,600 people sitting on that page at 2:30pm, so who knows how many of those missed the offer but still chose to order? Also, that's 1500 orders in one day. That's not including the people who ordered more than 6 days in advance, or those that ordered later on. That's a lot of orders, and perhaps arena flowers simply could not get all the roses shipped over in time. They expected to, but were let down.
Also, the "I couldn't agree with you more" bit was obviously with regards to roses being unromanic and unoriginal, with no thought etc, as would be apparent by the rest of my post. Please don't post things out of context just to make yourself look clever.0 -

If Arena flowers were capable of limiting the number of orders at a specific price, they were quite capable of limiting the total number of orders as well.
In any case, I don't see why you're so keen to defend a company that took orders they were unable to fulfill. Please ... post things out of context just to make yourself look clever
My pleasure0 -

My pleasure
I'm defending them because
a) they were let down by their supplier. Their order arrived late. Out of their hands
b) they have gone above and beyond what most companies would do, especially for products that were already discounted. They've offered a refund AND double the quantity of flowers delivered only 24 hours later.0 -

1. If you take orders for a specific date, you need to make damn sure you have the stock to supply on that date. They took customers money; it's their job to source sufficient stock.
2. I don't know where you get that from. They have offered double the amount OR a refund. Not both. Hardly 'above and beyond', especially since they clearly have a container of now unwanted roses arriving which they need to shift!0 -
Tesco obviously had no problem with their supplier.
Just come back from there and they had a stack of valentines flowers all half price.0 -

I get that from here, on the MSE updateArena says MoneySavingExpert.com users who took this deal can get a full refund as long as they request one by the close of business on Monday. It also says it will send 24 roses tomorrow regardless — even though they will arrive after Valentine's Day.0 -
I think arena deserve a pat on the back for how they are handling this, they could have just refunded everyone, they would have been able to sell those roses ordered on anyway and at the prices I have seen they are losing alot of money over this by trying to be fair to the customer.0

Fair, what's fair about this joke of a Company!
Yesterdays reason is not the same as todays. WHY? Hmmm I wonder.
See their facebook page, they are like thieves!!!!

I don't think they're "thieves". However it's obvious something serious has gone wrong with their ordering process! This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Then cancel your order, get your refund, and next time pay 2-3 times as much to ensure they arrive on "unimaginitive, unromantic, everyone else got the same half-!!!!!d gesture as me" day.
Also, thieves steal stuff. Not take your money in exchange for a product at a knock down price, then making a mistake, which they attempt to rectify by giving you the money back, and double the product as an apology for said mistake.
If they did, people would quite enjoy having their things stolen...0
