Dear Money Saving Expert Customer,
:(
You ordered flowers through the Money Saving Expert offer, which gave you a great deal on a dozen red roses for delivery today. We were unfortunately unable to process your order in time due to issues with our flower supply chain.
We will deliver your order on Friday instead and you will receive 24 red roses rather than a dozen. I am truly sorry and realise that this is a great disappointment on this special day of the year. If you are not satisfied with this and would like to cancel your order, we totally understand and if you reply to this email with cancel in the subject line, we will issue a full refund.
At Arena Flowers we pride ourselves on delivering the best fresh flowers on time every time and I am sincerely sorry that we have not been able to do so on this occasion.
Yours sincerely,
Will Wynne, Co-Founder Arena Flowers

So, you are getting your roses, just 24 hours later? And double the amount?
I take it this is a praise then? :)

Only if the recipient actually likes their Valentine's day flowers the day after. ;)

Anyone who thinks that receiving your flowers a day later is somehow disappointing should probably take a reality check and just be grateful they got them at all.

If you order a product for a date then they should arrive at that date. I admit Valentines is hardly the end of the world but what if these flowers were for a funeral or wedding? Arriving a day late for those events would be a waste of time!

I'm surprised that anyone can have so little appreciation of other's feelings. rolleyes.gif

For many, Valentine's day is a time to make a special effort to show someone how much you care about them.

Someone may well have saved up provide a special token on a special day.

Of course they are going to be upset if they pay out and then their present fails to materialise on the appropriate day. Just because some people don't have any sense of romance or occasion does not mean that no one else does.

I just happen to think that romance is for every day of the year. I really don't buy into this theory that you're terrible if you don't buy your other half a gift in a specific 24 hour period. I'm pleased with receiving a bunch of flowers whenever, and if they were delayed by 24 hours I wouldn't mind. Totally don't buy into this valentines day malarkey.
There's nothing romantic about buying your other half a present and card to say you love them on a specific day because it's what's expected.
Whilst I understand the point about funerals, Arena Flowers have been let down by their flower supplier and, whilst inconvenient, there's nothing they can do about that.
Presumably, if ordering for a funeral you'd either call and try and arrange alternative flowers, or just cancel the order and order from somewhere else for same day delivery or pick some up.
It's inconvenient, perhaps, but hardly the end of the world.

totally agree, just a marketing ploy to make you spend money and buy expensive gifts at their pick price. If you love someone why would you need a special day to tell them?
My OH and I are not very good at buying presents on 'command', we buy them when we feel like, and we find something that is really special not bought in a hurry coming back to work just because we ought to as everyone else is (or so we are made to think)

Deep down I think your OH would love it if you surprised him/her tonight with some valentines day flowers. I find it very rare that both members of a couple think Valentines day is a waste of a day. One person always says what you've said above and the other one goes along with it. Deep down they would love it.

Buy her some flowers on the way home, get the romance back into Terra_Ferma.....
