flawed list though - it is confusing they have included non-EU airlines on the list (American Airlines, United, Qatar, Qantas etc) and missed at least one EU airline... Loganair

Best list I could find Caz - if you post a better one I will delete my post.
  • Hi there

My status is also same as yours
    I flew LHR-DOH-DXB
Flight got delayed landing into Doha by 20 minutes resulting in me missing my flight to Dubai.

Hence I landed late into Dubai by 9 hours.
Does this still entitle me to a delay compensation?

you don't mention what the reason of the 20 minute delay was...that is not uncommon for an ATC delay which would not be liable for financial compensation, the delay would need to be within the airline's control for compensation to be considered
I assume you had chosen a very short Doha connection if such a short delay resulted in a missed connection
You can try putting your flight details into one of the NWNF checkers such as EUClaim so see whether they believe there is a claim
This is the thread for non-EU airlines so you can see others experiences

If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

    The alleged Ringleader.........
  • I was flying from London to SF via LA. My flight from London was slightly delayed and then when I arrived, it turned out that my flight from LA to SF was cancelled due to a storm. I was given a different flight (to San Jose) at exactly the same time with Express Pass that was meant to allow me to get quickly through the airport. Unfortunately, my baggage didn't arrive on time and by the time I was trying to re-check it (40 minutes before the flight), I was told that it's too late and that I won't be able to get this flight.

They were unable to find a flight for me until the next evening (which I ended up not taking and buying my own flight with a different airline for the next morning). I have sent a complaint through Resolver and they gave me a $100 voucher for AA flights. Do I qualify for a compensation because of the missed connection? Or should I just accept the voucher?
  • Download and thoroughly digest Vauban's guide. You will then know if you have a claim and how to pursue it. If it was one ticket the answer may be positive.
  • Hi,

I'm so sorry if a similar answer has been posted elsewhere. I've tried reading Vauban's guide and can't work out if I'm eligible given the transfers. I was recently denied boarding with Emirates when travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Southampton. Throughout this whole event I have been treated with disrespect, lied to & fobbed off to further personnel, an overall wholly unpleasant experience.

I was due to fly from Kuala Lumpur on the 27th November at 1:10 (flight details listed below). - EK343 Kuala Lumpur to Dubai
    - EK 035 Dubai to Newcastle
    - BE 146 Newcastle to Southampton

As soon as I arrived at the airport, they told me there was no space on the flight & they would put me on the 'next available one'. The compensation offered at the time was a return flight to KL to be used within a year & I was to be put up in the airport hotel for the night. They told me the ticket could be rearranged to anywhere Emirates travel & the year's deadline could be adjusted, which I have now been told is not the case.

Instead of putting me on the next available flight (I checked, there was one 3 hours later that would have enabled me to make all my connecting flights that I could buy through the Emirates webpage), they put me on was exactly 24 hours later, going via Glasgow instead of Newcastle (flight numbers EK 343, EK027 & BE891 respectively), despite there being several alternative flights that would have gotten me in earlier (especially when taking into consideration the change in return airport destinations!). I was put in a horrible hotel, where I had to pay to reclaim my luggage & for drinks with very poor communication from everyone involved.

All I can find online is that their policy states the passenger will be put on the next available flight & issued with an Options Ticket (which I have, and can't change despite being told I could). I've written to Emirates as I'm incredibly unhappy with the delay for no apparent reason; furthermore as I missed a shift at work & had to work on my day off to make up for it; hardly ideal. They've point blank refused to acknowledge they didn't meet their own policy, and aren't budging on the compensation...

Does anyone know where I stand in pushing this, as I don't feel that what I've received is at all fair (considering the guy next to me got the same thing & was put on a flight 20 minutes later!).

    Thanks!
