I went for an MRI Scan today and couldn't do it!

as long as it isn't in the way of the scan, you can ask for a cushiony thing for under your calves to make it easier to lie flat in the scanner. i use that just because it's more comfortable for long periods of time - it may make a big difference for you, so it's worth asking about it!:happyhear0

Thanks I'll try that
I had been sleeping on my side with a pillow between my legs - like pregant women :rotfl: but I could do with something to raise my pelvis up - Thanks
Everyone is so wonderfully supportive on here :T0 -
I'm sure catz that they can find something to raise your legs a bit but I have to say that there isn't an awful lot of room in there.
Good luck:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
They always offer me support for my lower legs, and mine's not a back problem, I think most people would run into problems laid completely flat for half an hour or so!Signature removed for peace of mind0

I feel loads better after seeing how many people have had the same problem! I suffer badly with claustrophobia but convinced myself I would be OK...until I saw how small the tube is. I could not do it. I had the open MRI scan in the end.
The cup of tea afterwards is a good idea, although I actually went home and had a large brandy!0 -
Oh my god, I do sympathise. If I had to have one, they would have to lead me backwards to it and blindfold me. I think you can be sedated is that correct. I hate small spaces.0

Ok I've done it!!
Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, well it might have been at first - dodgy gown & that but I had a nice blanket to keep me warm. The tunnel was a bit claustrophobic and I thought from what she said that my head would be out the other side but it wasn't. I kept my eyes closed and listened to the noises, it was a bit painful lying there, I think I fell asleep a minute or two but it was all over quite quickly
Wooohoooo Well Done Me! :T0
