I had it happen on Friday 8th Feb about 9.30 or 10.00. I was calling somebody I know has a Tesco mobile, got a conversation about a business deal involving Bristol Fruit Sales and somebody called Nick. I was trying to call somebody called Nick, but realised it was not the same person. I was only getting one side of the conversation.
I'm no where near Birmingham (or Bristol!).

Similar happened to me on Tuesday (12/02/2013). My O2 phone rang, I answered, after saying 'hello' a few times somebody started talking. I realised after a few seconds that the caller couldn't hear me, and she was in fact talking to somebody else about a train booking. I couldn't hear the other side of the conversation. It was most strange. I hung up. Immediately the phone rang again, and it was exactly the same thing, so I just hung up once more.0

MSE says "If I were to boil this down, don't be too afraid to use the phone but best to avoid banking and bonking conversations."
Aren't they pronounced the same in the West Midlands?0 -
I live in Torquay and heard someone on my mobile phone after it had rung and I answered. It was strange as I was saying 'hello..', etc, but no-one was hearing me and the other conversation was spasmodic and I didn't really catch the drift, in fact can't remember as it was about a week ago and hung up when I realised that I was listening to another conversation and they couldn't hear me. It was nothing important. I hadn't thought any more about it till the article.0

This might not be connected but two days ago I had a phone conversatin (O2) with my daughter about her application to Student Finance. She told me I had to complete a section as her parent. The following day I had an e-mail purportedly from "Student Finance" with alleged information about my student loan. On closer inspection, it hadn't come from student finance at all and I didn't open the attachment but I can imagine what it contained! The only thing that alerted me was that the e-mail had come into an account I know wasn't registered with Student Finance and of course it's not my loan application but my daughters. Did make me wonder if either someone was listening in or it was a very close co-incidence!0

happened to me about three weeks ago, I'm on O2 my wife on EE she rang me twice and twice when I answered it was another call who couldn't hear me, both of us could hear the cross-connection though. We are in the West Midlands. Separate problem, I've used all my data allowance this month 9 days before it renews, never happened before, nothing has changed about my usage nor apps. O2 can kiss me goodbye in May when my contract is up, I've had it with them.0
