If you have passed all the tests then maybe they will ask you to work some time in the future. I sympathize with you because after doing all that work to pass your tests, you deserve work. Congratulations on passing the tests; that is not easy to do.
Thank you very much for the feedback! it`s quite relieving to know that they have a history with raters from where I come from. And thanks again for the compliment  It wasnt easy as I really studied the guidelines very well over and over. But as you may see I`m still not offered a contract.
But hopefully they wont forget "my file" on the shelves and that I might get to work soon enough.
Thanks buddy!0 -

Then the real fun starts!!
Be sure to lurk on the International channel on chat once you have access, it's loads of help.
Oh yeah, eight hours difference seems to be just the right time-difference to completely miss emails going back and forth!
I got the final a'ok email this evening and headed across to the website and was immediately confused by the bombardment of information (I am really tired though).
I'll take your advice on the international chat channel once I've located it
Really looking forward to startingMFiT-T4 #75: £142,480 to £86,700 by Jan 2019

Good luck! Yes, that's the thing, after all the exam reading and learning, there's tons and tons more to get your head round! And plenty of surprises along the way that keeps things interesting0 -
yay invoice now approved for this month, was beginning to worry as it had been so long since I submitted it.
To the newbies asking about declaring tax etc you need to register as self employed with HMRC-can do over the phone or online. They will send a reminder to make a tax return at the end of the year which can be done on paper or online. I do mine online as I find it easier. If you have a full time or part time job PAYE there is a section on the form to declare that so they know what rate to tax your LF or other self employed earnings at (I do some other s/e stuff). Last year I actually got a big refund as I had some PPI payments that had been taxed at source when I hadn't earn't enough to pay tax.
Regarding NI again it depends on earnings and if on low earnings you can get a low earnings exception and not have to pay. Otherwise its quite a low amount about £2-£3 a week for the basic class 2 self employed NI. If your self employed earnings are under £5885 you can apply for an exception and not pay at all, if the self employed profits ie net income from self employment after any legal deductions you can make for working at home, internet usage etc is above £7956 you have to pay class 4 ni as well.
It sounds more complex than it actually is tbh, I do returns for myself and my OH's two self employed businesses so if anyone wants advice on those I will try to answer if I can lol. There is plenty on guidence on the HMRC site as well and of course there is the tax boards on here. I am gathering up the info to do last years returns now, its early as they don't have to be submitted till next Jan, but I do them earlier as i have to have the figures for the tax credit renewal.

I've had my invoice approved too :j I was surprised as I was convinced I had done it wrong. How long after approval does the payment usually come?
Also should you register as self-employed immediately, or are you okay as long as you pay your tax by the end of the year and register some time before then?0 -

Just a question about having multiple self-employment buisnesses-
I'm currently self employed as a sole trader so am already registered with HMRC, do you know if I'm supposed to register seperately for leap-force too? Or is it OK to declare my combined earnings from both in the same tax return?
I can't find any clear answers on the internet!kratosthegreat wrote: »

HMRC asks you to register within three months of starting up as self-employed. You just have to set up paying NI contribututions (or applying for a small earnings exception certificate) but you don't have to do any tax returns on this year's earnings until next financial year (between 6th April 2015-31st January 2016 for earnings this tax year!)MFiT-T4 #75: £142,480 to £86,700 by Jan 2019

They have changed the 3 month requirement. It is now:
You should register by 5 October following the end of the tax year you need to send a tax return for.

and you only need to register once, all self-employed income is lumped together.0 -

Oooh thanks, and apologies for posting incorrect information! (didn't realise it had changed)

Sorry to be blonde but I wonder if someone could help please. I have just submitted part 3 of my exam and my deadline is Friday 12am (PST) so is that technically tomorrow night at midnight or midnight on Friday? I'm a tad confused. I am kind of hoping that I might get results on Friday if it means Thursday midnight is cut off but if I have until midnight Friday (as in a minute after would be Saturday) I am guessing I won't hear over the weekend and will have to wait until next week.0

I'm pretty sure that's midnight between Thurs and Fri so tomorrow night which means hopefully you will get your results Friday evening. Good luck!0
