I am coming up to end of first year of annual Smart Pass and got email to say I'm getting discount but it is annual not midweek 6 months.

I do that too, especially when there are big discount offers on things I usually buy. So I don't know, maybe they don't like my name, or the computer don't like it ...................:D
Saying that, I did pay £2.99 for the last three months, and when you goggle smart pass, they are advertising the midweek pass at £6.49, way too high in my opinion.
But I'm sure there are people still being offered the midweek membership at £2.99.

Some websites don't like my surname literally, I get told it's too long or 'invalid'. I can't order from Next at all for example :D

I think it's more likely that there's some computer algorithm thang going on and what you get offered depends on where you live and what you buy.

I just added a few bits to my order for Friday evening, saved 17.79 on offers plus 7.49 on delivery with Smart Pass. Now wondering whether delivery has gone up cos 7.49 seems outrageous.

Before I got onto that smartpass, many years ago, I believe you had free delivery when your groceries were costing a certain amount of money. As far as I remember, it was £75 then.
I believe now you need to spend at least £100 to get free delivery, at least that's as far as I know.
If it's like that, I can shop every fortnight and buy my vegs and fruits from the local shop if necessary, or use frozen ones for the second week. I'll have just to reorganise my shopping in another way.
When it shows how much you have saved on delivery with your smart pass, mine was different nearly every week, so I don't know how they are calculating it. Especially I am doing my shopping the same day and the same time every week.

Well, I tried to move my slot to a free delivery one, the sting in the tail is that, the free slots are free only if you spend £75 and over, which I don't, and don't intend to.
With any other slots, there is no free delivery after spending a certain amount, I tried on my normal slot (6pm-7pm), and I would still pay £5.99, even if I spend £1000s
So I will try to do my shopping every 2 weeks (which will get me over £75), and book a "free" slot, see if I get on like that.
Except for the extortionate delivery fees, Ocado is still one of the best for customer service, unfortunately. If they weren't, it would make it so much easier to move away.
  • I first got a midweek Smart Pass for £2.99 a month for 6 months. When this expired, the best they could offer me was £4.99 a month for 12 months. I wasn't happy to pay this, so cancelled.

A couple of weeks later I had a look at their Smart Pass page, and there was an offer of £14.99 for 6 months, equivalent to £2.49 per month!

If they weren't so greedy and just wanted to rise my membership to £4 a month, I would have accepted it. But £6.49 and not being able to order any other days than tues-weds-thurs is taking the pi55.
I wonder if their little computer has a program who checked how long you have been with them and, after x amount of years you are with them, decide that, whatever crap they blow your way, you will still be there to take it.
Unfortunately, they still give a good service for the rest, and, on the contrary of waitrose, with Ocado you don't need to compete with the customers who go and do their shopping in the same store as your groceries come from, therefore there are less chances of missing items with Ocado.
I will chose "free" slots for my orders and do my grocery shopping every two weeks, as the "free" slots are only "free" for orders of £75 and over, and my shopping never is that much.

Very, very rarely I've seen free slots on a £40 shop but they seem to be harder and harder to get.

New customers get much cheaper delivery slots, seems unfair.

I was recently given a Smart Pass anytime for free for a few months, though didn't get round to using it (as the organic delivery companies do cheaper delivery for far lower min purchase amounts).

Would anyone be happy to share info on current Ocado smart pass offers? We've been with Ocado for four or five years and gradually seen price rises on the pass but have negotiated the price down. Just coming out of a fifteen month deal of three months free followed by 12 months at 6.99. Have received an email saying monthly price will rise to 9.99 a month (apparently a discount of one pound a month off the usual price). I really don't want to pay this much so wondered what others have been offered recently.

    Many thanks :)

Unless you buy products that are not available elsewhere or particularly value Ocado's service why would you buy from them? £120 or £132 pa! They cannot be serious.

Delivery passes are much cheaper elsewhere
    ASDA £8pm Anytime min £40.
Tesco £60pa Anytime min £25; £30 pa Midweek min £25.
    Sainsbury £40 for 6 months Anytime min £25 ; £26 for 6 months Midweek min £25 ***UNTIL 18MAY***

Although picking carefully Ocado prices are the same or occasionally less than elsewhere generally goods seem more expensive. I am currently on a 3 month free trial pass with Ocado but unless I am offered one extremely cheaply I will not be buying a pass when it ends. I would not be able to use a £40 delivery frequently enough to make it worthwhile. Good luck with your negotiations.

Tesco and ASDA do one-off deliveries from £1 Min £25 midweek. I plan to start taking advantage of those.
