Ice creams, the beach, eveything a 3 year old heart desires!skintchick wrote: »Interesting idea about gadgets for OH. He loves gadgets but I'm not so keen!
A weekend in Venice would be nice but how suitable is it for a 3yo? Anyone know?
There's no point in home improvements because our plan is to completely renovate and extend when we sell OH's house from before we married, which we rent out at the moment. I read the market will really pick up in 2015 so we're waiting for then.
I'm wondering about a piece of art...
And for art - you can get a cheap daub anywhere, but good art costs.................. ....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 ....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0

How about a trip to a spa for you and your OH? You can get a good couples deal for a couple of hundred, for bed, breakfast, evening meal, and a couple of treatments.
 Maybe your inlaws will babysit?
 Plenty left over to save!0

I love art, and would definitely consider that as an option, of you and your dh can find something you both love.
I guess! I just don't remember much stuff for kids when we went to Venice although we did do loads of galleries so probably weren't looking for kid stuff.
And we have very similar taste in art. We used to at a game at galleries where we'd each pick our favourite piece but not tell until the end and usually we'd pick the same piece!
Really loving the idea of art or National Trust or Venice. Alßo wondering about a summer house in the garden.
I'd never have thought of these things on my own. Thanks! I've read the 1/3 for the future, 1/3 for the present, 1/3 for the past rule of thumb before. So maybe spending £300-£350 on a break whilst banking the rest ear-marking some for the cc when the deal ends and the rest in a savings account. LO isn't in f-time school is she yet? You could get a cheap out of season hol before you have to start paying school hol prices.
Having said that, is there anything in your life that if you had it, it would be worth more financially than what you spent. The example of re-furbing a bathroom which added value to property is a good one. I once traded in my scrap gold to pay for a PC (we didn't have one at time) that meant I could upload my CV on-line and through it I got a job.
Or is there anything that would enhance your life/make it easier? We had a summer-house built and it became an office for my DH. This meant he could work from home more without being disturbed by kids home from school, so it enhanced our lives by him not having a commute.0

i dont want to sound rude but why ask what to do with your wind fall, your only going to do what you want to do with it in the end, so ideas of how to save spend it seem pointless, just my opinion
I read it as a bit of fun question.
My answer was to put towards my daughters wedding fund, I doubt the OP would consider this course of action!0

The Big Sheep is an attraction in Devon, you can Google it. When we went they had a water balloon target thing for kids but it had no roof and the people running it were letting adults on.
One of the balloons let loose by a catapult operated by an adult flew over the top and hug my FIL on the temple. He was really hurt but staff tried to laugh it off. It was really badly dealt eîth and he was injured and suffered problems like whiplash for months
It's been with societies ever since and then finally they settled out if court.
The water balloon bit was closed down just after FIL was hurt there.
 It wasn't just a massive sheep attack!!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
