Do you love your job??

I love my job. I spent 30 years doing a job I hate then completely changed my career.
The only downside is it pays a third of my boring job but hey I look forward to going in. Not to say I don't value weekends but the job is so good it doesn't feel like work to me.
Of course there are some boring bits but I do them for the benefits.0 -
I like and enjoy my job, I love my friends and family, they can't really be compared.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

I love my job. I am a teaching assistant and in two years I haven't had one day when I've thought 'I really don't want to go to school today' which to me is very good! Everyday is completely different, children are so unique and always have interesting things to tell you and make you laugh, they're fab!Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0

I used to love my job. Unfortunately the client base in the last year has gotten increasingly rude and sometimes i just wonder why i bother being polite back, especially when customers make personal complaints against you with bare-faces lies because you couldn't resolve their issue right there and then and needed to consult with colleagues or other departments. Or the fact that they don't help you to help them sometimes. I don't say that for all of our customers however, we do have some really nice ones, one of which i found today, really nice guy and very appreciative of effort.
All part of a customer facing role though i guess, keep smiling and shake off the abuse.Professional Data Monkey

My main "job" is a lot of people's worst nightmare, but I honestly think I have the best job on the planet (Trade Plate Driver).
But I probably love it so much because I don't do it all the time, do other stuff as well, and have a good work/life balance.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
Funny how I saw this thread as just today I have decided that things need to change and I need to quit my highly stressful, badly underpaid job, to find something which is far less mentally/emotionally draining and take some time for me.
I am meant to be the manager of a service (that was what I was employed to do) but due to someone leaving I am now doing EVERYTHING. It's not sustainable and I have come to the end of working in the particular area I work in as I have done it for long enough.
So...rant over, and hopefully within the next 3-6months I will be in a job that I really enjoy, might pay a bit less, but is heaps less stressful! The only problem is figuring out what I want to do next

My dad owns a logistics company and he employs trade plate drivers. The ones I've met are certainly a very happy bunch!0 -
I loved my two previous jobs which were essentially in the same field but I performed very different roles. The jobs were challenging, exciting, varied. Current job has none of that. I remain hopeful that planned changes this year will bring a whole new dynamic to our office which I do think will be challenging, varied and exciting!
I have though met colleagues who have became dear friends and I love them, so it's still worthwhile :j0 -
I love my job (antimoneylaundering in the financial industry). It pays very well, and every day is manic and different; I might be dealing with the police or the FSA, advising on the ramifications of a deal, looking at transactions to spot potential market abuse, investigating the background of high net worth individuals/politically exposed persons, delivering training, monitoring the media for adverse news, writing a country financial crime analysis, ensuring our compliance with sanctions lists, faffing with spreadsheets to produce reports and stats. I love it - it's the most challenging work I've ever done. I never would've said it's what I wanted to do when I was a kid, but it definitely suits me for now and the people are fantastic. I do miss it when I'm not there."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000
