Keeping seeds in the fridge is a bit of a compromise. You are right that some probably don't like it there but most of the ones I keep there are used to overwintering. Some seeds I just keep in the garage where its generally cool but dry.

I've got a really attractive Acer Griseum(paperbark maple) which I've nurtured from being a small expensive whip 25 years ago. I tried geminating seeds from that several times by keeping them in sand and frozen in the freezer for periods to simulate it's home territory but always failed. Then lo and behold after the hard winter of 11/12 an area of gravel near the tree was full of seedlings during the spring:eek:. First time in all the time I've had it that seeds have germinated:( Nature knows best I suppose.

Haven't been active in sowing things for a few years but I really should get back to it. I'd normally have my autumn sown sweet peas ready by now for a very early show:( And I thought retirement was meant to give me more time:rotfl:

what you mean is you need to get off your butt Artha.....you have admitted to being lazy :rotfl::rotfl:

we could make it competetive? set a target....pics as proof. A ' let's get Artha off his butt campaign?':rotfl:

Logie and DM could join in...they are keen growers

Totally lost now where I have caught up to. :o

My mum seems to be fading more each day, very weak tonight, could not even stay forward in the bed for me to plump up her pillows. :( Positive is her pain is very much under control. :)

Lots of tears earlier as DD2 has been home from uni for the weekend to visit her and asked me if this would be the last time she would see her. I could only answer that I didn't know. So sad for her being so many miles away. I hope she will be ok. :(
:A:grouphug: pain free is the main thing now
