I had 17 thousand to clear out, I did a bit of a time to do a bit at a time but it took me about 6 weeks to clear out my emails and already I have got over a thousand, have to try and keep on top of it again.
The worst of it is that the actual spam mail goes into a seperate box that I can only get to via sky.com. I get about a hundred spam each day so a quick check and I delete these off a couple of times a day.

I will no longer worry about my inbox approaching 300 unread emails anymore. :o

It can be a bit hit and miss with seeds that are beyond their sow by date but I've had success with seeds that are years old (I never throw anything away:rotfl:) I keep my seeds in an airtight container in the fridge to help them keep for as long as possible. Generally the more breeding/cultivation a seed has the less likely it is to keep(just my experience/opinion). Wild flower (or weeds if you like) are probably ok since things like that have a built in mechanism to not all germinate at once but over a period of years. This is why weeds can pop up years after setting seed. Hence the old expression "one year of seeds is seven years of weeds"

For some plants like tomatoes my late FIL used to take seed from end of season fruit, dry it and then plant at the start of the following season. Works well for Gardeners Delight but not complex hybrids.

    Thanks Artha,

I'm still fairly new to this gardening malarkey myself :D Didn't seem a lot of point until we'd bought our own house a few years ago, until then everything was in pots. Really enjoy it when I get the chance though now. My Grandad and Grandma were market gardeners so have hoping I have inherited greenfingers and picked up a few bits along the way :)

I hadn't thought about drying veggie seeds :o I did grow quite a lot of aquilegia from seeds collected from Grandma's garden though last year

MSM has only 1185 multibuys showing for A at the moment, seems a bit low though they may be updating and back to normal in the morning when the stores open.

AS I indicated in my other post, collecting seed and seeing what comes up can be interesting but I wouldn't rely on it for things I really wanted. Seeds from F1 varieties won't come true but can produce some worthwhile plants. My uncle was a market gardener in Louth and had a stall on Grimsby market. I used to spend time there in the summer helping him out.

I love collecting my own seeds where I can....and have had some nice successes....as well as some failures and complete surprises :)

The thing I have found with the fridge is that seeds that don't naturally 'over winter' don't like being kept in the fridge. Dont know if you've found the same? every year I gain a new seed knowledge and am still building my understanding if what seeds to keep where. I have fridge seeds, cool dark place seeds and don't care where you keep me seeds:rotfl::rotfl:

today was spent digging up and storing my hyacinth bulbs which gave me flowers at Christmas this year( indoors) :j....my garden is also a bit weather confused this year. Spotted today....crocuses (very early) and 2 marigolds which have no business showing their faces until early summer!!
