We've just found out that were expecting our second child (4+4) and we are in the process of moving end of Feb!

We had agreed to start trying when we had moved but little did we know as we said that I was already pregnat as this was 3 weeks back! Neverless we are throughly pleased :-)

Thing is with the hassle of moving we have agreed not to tell fam members untill afterwards because they are very OTT and I won't even be allowed to lift a box of pillows!!

J/w if anyone else has stories to tell? Its absoultly killing me not being able to run round telling everyone (although your supposed to wait till 12 weeks anyway :( ) so figured having a chat on here might help ....

I know every prenancy is differnert but I had horrible morning sickness around 6weeks-3months on my last one so fingers crossed I manage to keep it together for that long...

Our circumstances are such that we've always told family very early on - early miscarriages and then a previous prem baby and knowing my family in particular are usually very busy so we needed to make sure they had the ability to free up their diary if we needed them to step in and support hubby in caring for our eldest with a prolonged hospital stay like we had last time (hubby means well bless him but even after the best part of a year he'll still ask me where the bairn's clothes are kept).
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!

We always told our nearest and dearest very early on as I am hopeless at secret keeping.
I could never understand waiting till 12wks because even if god forbid the worst happened I would want the support of my friends and family! x x

We waited until 12 weeks due to previous miscarriage (I didn't want to have to explain there was no longer a baby) but then we had our 20 week scan which is actually an anomaly scan and problems were highlighted.
We didn't tell anyone but it was a long 2 weeks until we went back for a confirmation scan and we had to discuss our options in the meantime. All was well thankfully but on my next pregnancy we didn't tell anyone until after 20 weeks as we were so nervous.
I didn't tell my boss until 20 weeks as I didn't want to be treated differently just because I was pregnant (all male work place) and luckily I never had any pregnancy symptoms so nobody could tell.
I knew I had to tell him before 25 weeks but told him earlier as he started making plans which involved me when I would have been on maternity leave!
Tell people when you are happy to do so - it's good news and you should be able to share it :T

Thanks for your stories :-) think we have decided to wait till our 12 week scan but at very least were going to wait till after the move as it will be a nightmare otherwise.

Congrats on your pregnancy :) I told only close family/friends/work collegues at first, at around 3/4 weeks! I didn't think i was pregnant and was 2 weeks late when i experienced severe cramps. I just thought it was my period, but my mum and partner got me to do a pregnancy test to double check. I found out i was and had to go to the doctors/hospital to see what was going on.

I honestly thought i was having a miscarriage, but thankfully it was just a cyst which burst on my ovaries! I did tell people as soon as i found out as my the people i work with are almost like another family, and i knew if i had a miscarriage they would find out anyway. Everything was fine after that, other than a growth scan as they thought my little boy would be a large baby.

He's now 7 months old, very tall and a good weight :) I think you should tell people when you feel is right, and who is important and should know. Good luck with the move and being pregnant - no heavy lifting! lol. I was still carrying boxes at work (i hate people not letting me do stuff myself) and had no problems :)

With my first we told family on christmas day, at around 7 weeks - We wrapped up a calander opened to the month, and on the estimated due date had written "your granchild is due today!" - It was a lovely way to tell people. With my second we told people at 5 weeks, I'm hopeless at keeping secrets!

I don't.. I wait until they ask.. OH included.

Last time I was about 11 weeks when I told OH and told my mother and oldest 2 children after my scan at 13 weeks. The one before her I told OH at about 6 weeks and my mother asked when I was 17 weeks.

I don't think it has anything to do with anyone else and I can't be bothered with their stupid comments which are normally rude and intrusive so I don't bother telling anyone... saves me getting cross with them.

My poor sister, she had to tell everyone close to her after about six weeks. She was massive with both pregnancies and around week 6 had a definite baby bump showing under clothes. It wasn't a big bump at that point but completely the wrong shape to be too many pies in there!
Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.

So do I.. I wear maternity clothes from about 5 weeks but leggings and a huuuuuge jumper work wonders.. Mens XL fit nicely on my size 14 self ;) and if anyone was rude enough to ask.. I'd lie and say no and tell them off for being rude.
