I did a google search for "Everything 5 Pounds Complaints" and this thread came up, so here I am! I've got an addiction to this site, potentially it's AWESOME. When the clothes come, they can be really nice, and great values. But I've got issues too. In about 8 orders, I've been sent a single wrong item, no big deal I guess. They send me a returns free postage label the next day, I decided to keep it.
The major ongoing compalint does seem to be sizes though. Everything is FAR too small. They tell you that the male model is wearing a small or medium, he must be tiny. He doesn't look it. I'm far from massive (11 stones) and the large or even extra large tends to fit ok. Shoe sizes too when I got some were wrong- I got sent a 42 as a "9" when in fact it's an 8, and I take a 9 - they were too small.
So yeah, my thoughts, potentially awesome, just order larger! If my post doesn't appear to be serious, then it is not serious. So what? Kick back, relax enjoy life and have a little fun. Life is far far too short to be grumpy!!!!0 -
The problem with e5p is that the sizes are hard to get right with the huge variety of brands they sell - (personally I've had ASOS, Eucalyptus, Friday On My Mind, George At Asda (!), Edinburgh Woollen Mill, Stanley Kane (men's shirts)) etc. Some have even said they got M&S and Next stuff from there
!
What can be "off" is the sizing they mention in their descriptions. I bought my niece an Oh My Love dress from there, supposedly a size 10, and it came with an M label on it (?).
Trousers' measurements, you find, aren't consistent if they are the same manufacturer and style, some descriptions state they are longer than others.
But overall I've been very happy with my e5p bargains0 -

Awful site -shoes the wrong size (beware their European to uk conversion) and watch strap broken 😕
Order took a couple of weeks to come through.0 -
I placed an order for the first time a couple of weeks ago, took a while to arrive. Ordered 8 items, but only 6 things turned up, only one of which was what I ordered! emailed them a few days ago but no response yet. It does seem like the good reviews must be fake, or they were lucky0

After seeing this here on MSE last week I thought I'd give it a go:
[Online fashion retailer Everything5pounds.com* sells clothes, shoes, bags and more for £5 each. It sources unsold stock from top high-street brands - which could include M&S, Next, Zara, Topshop and River Island - and other branded and unbranded items directly from manufacturers. Think of it as a totally online version of TK Maxx, where everything's a fiver.[/I]
Foolishly I ordered about 20 items getting carried away with the fact that everything was 5 pounds. Delivery was quick and I got the order in less than a week. After opening my order I was not very happy. Quality was so poor, one of the shoes I ordered had a big yellow stain on the side of the shoe from the glue that they had used to put it together. It is really NOT (from my experience and my own opinion) an online version of TK MAXX, the clothes and shoes look like they have been made very very cheaply abroad, and of market stall quality or one of these cheap shops that sell clothes, shoes, phone cards, does mobile phones repairs, fake fruit and Hessian Laundry bags all in one tiny shop!. Hands up, it's my own fault for not ordering just a few items first to see what the quality was like (but I was lured by the fact that everything was 5 pounds and the hope that -as it was similar to an online version of TK Maxx-I might have got a really great high street bargain!!!!! Out of 20 items, one was for my husband and ironically his was the only one that was a "High Street" name....C & A, (stopped trading here in the UK over 20 years ago.)
When I then tried to review the shoe that I bought the site itself allowed me to write and submit the review, but it didn't actually publish it! It makes me wonder how many more disappointed buyers there are out there. Avoid.....if you do buy for the first time don't buy in bulk (foolishly like me) It really isn't like TK MAXX, For a bargain you'd be better off going here and buying something half decent.0 -
I ordered two items last week, with the free postage code in the weekly email. They arrived together a few days later and both items are very nice. The jacket did come up small but it still fits....a couple of reviews for the item mentioned "very long sleeves", but although the sleeves are slightly too long for my arms, that's nothing new for me anyway, all of my clothes have the sleeves rolled up!
The other item, a top, came up bigger but is a lovely item, not from a brand that I recognise but still decent quality. I'm going to wear it today when we go out for dinner.
I think that, with any site like this (and with TK Maxx) you have to look at the clothes very carefully and not get carried away with the idea that you're getting a "bargain" or a "designer" item. If you like the look of the item and it's something that you think you'd wear, then buy it. But check the photos very carefully....front and back views, And I always check the descriptions too, sometimes a photo will show a shirt which looks as if it is white, but the description says that it's yellow, and so on.
I thought it was worth a punt for a fiver, and it worked out ok for me."I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
I been with this company for 7 years.
The only problem I had was bulk buyers, market traders buying in bulk.lots of items were snatched up in minutes.
I complained that it was not fair that us joe blog who wanted a few bargains were missing out, they advised me they did have a limit of how much the bulk buyers could buy.and as a customer being fobbed of with Quote system Error when all stock was being sold to market traders nothing wrong with bulk buying but I had to make a stand that they had to be a fair company.
But I can honestly say yes it still happens but for me! Not very often anyway.
I remain a loyal customer
I've always had my phone calls answered, always had return labels, refunds, emails not that many.
But over the years they have made alot of people very happy.
As a person with limited funds
Xmas.Birthdays. Everything £5 have been my savour.
So all I can say is keep up the good work..
