Official MoneySavingExpert Insert August 2017:

If you're looking for Everything 5 pounds deals check out our Deals pages: Everything 5 Pounds Deals.

----

Following a few reasonable reviews of this company I placed a large order (almost £500 - to be used as show costumes) with this company a couple of weeks ago.
I received an email confirming the order & another telling me my order was being "picked and packed ready for dispatch"
Since then - nothing :(
I can't get hold of anyone on the phone & emails just generate an automated response.
I'm angry at myself for being stupid enough to order from this company, I'm usually a lot wiser & I'm now no doubt facing an uphill battle to get my money back, if indeed I can get it at all.
I've since found another couple of review sites where people have similar experiences to my own so as a warning to everyone please think twice before ordering from everything5pounds.com. The stuff may be cheap but if you lose your money it's not such a bargain after all :(

Assuming you used a debit/credit card, phone your bank/CC provider and initiate a chargeback for goods not received.
  • Why can't you get a stop put on the payment or ask for a refund via credit card?
    :hello:
  • Credit card purchase can be refunded without problem (though takes a while), keep all automated email responses and see if you can show phone bill with their telephone number on to demonstrate how you've tried to contact this company. Also send recorded delivery letter to the company requesting immediate refund.

All this is good 'evidence' that you've tried to resolve this yourself, then ask c/c company to reverse the transaction sending copies of your 'resolution attempts'. They will comply.

Debit card 'chargeback' facility is less positive, depends if your d/c provider can get dosh back from merchants bank. There is an excellent template letter to write to your d/c provider on MSE, do a search.

Other payment methods, PayPal etc, have their own policies - you must start researching those via their websites. Apparently they aren't as good as the reliable c/c - which is why we try to stick to that (after lessons learnt through previous problems).

What is their usual delivery time?
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.
  • Thanks so much for your advice, it's much appreciated:). I've never had to reclaim money from my credit card before so just assumed it would be difficult!
I've kept all the emails & will try to get a print out of my phone bill too.
Their usual delivery time is next day if you order before 5pm but they have a banner on the website saying delivery might be delayed by 3 days due to website maintenance! Alarm bells should have started ringing then
    Thanks again
  • Due to website maintenance, orders may be delayed. Please allow additional 3 working days for delivery.

There does not look to be an address on their website.

Looks like they're registered office is at 372 Ealing Road, Alperton which is an Access Storage.

C/C reverse transactions are surprisingly easy. We used it with a company called Brew-It-Yourself & got our dosh back no problem - just took several weeks (better that than a total loss).

Pre Xmas we instigated a d/c chargeback (remaining 3 months of an annual up-front membership fee for a 'gone bust' company). Our bank have given us the amount in question immediately while they work to get it back from the merchants bank - we still have it 2 months later so hopefully we'll get to keep it!

Maybe this will just turn out to be late delivery for you.
