It was advertised and yes they were requirements in the job advert.
The fact that he lied to ensure I didnt apply is my problem, had he said the role I am doing now would be a better fit for me it would be different.

I've had similar happen to me, it's annoying but ultimately I couldn't work for someone who operated in this way and moved to another team when I got the chance. Be thankful you work where you are appreciated and do well, there is no logic when men make these decisions on who they like the look of - HR know your reasons for not applying. To be honest I'm flummoxed by this story and think there's more happened than we've been told about. It doesn't add up. Managers aren't responsible for initial vetting of applications, HR are. If candidates don't meet basic requirements they aren't forwarded to managers. Managers are rarely solely responsible for interviewing and hiring new appointments.
I don't know what organisation the OP works for, but it doesn't make any sense to me that one large enough to have a variety of HR personnel would have such a weak appointments system to allow this to happen. And I still don't understand how the OP saw the other employee's CV, unless people who had no right to see it were passing it around and gossping about it. In which case I do wish the OP would name her employer as I'd like to avoid ever applying for a job there.0 -

Not a sticking point, more that a CV is highly confidential piece of personal information that should only be seen by certain people.
If your firm choses to ignore this fact then that possibly goes to explain why they also pay no regard over such matters as the way the roll was filled when you were shipped sideways..Sealed pot challange no: 3390 -
Actually there not, lots of the companies I have worked at (Multi Nationals) have a central repository for CV's as it helps with Internal Recruitment.
The only sensitive data would be address details and that is removed.0
